Day after day, Eva spent most of her time with Vince. They would skip class and hang out at the park as a couple. Vince could not keep his lips off hers. Sometimes Eva would try to simply talk to him like they used to, but he always interrupted with a kiss to the lips. Eva didn't know what to think. This is what love is, right? As much as she tried to be patient, it bothered her. She would push him off, only for him to come running back and smacking his mouth on to hers.

Meanwhile at home, Eva's parents were still mute. She could undo the spell at anytime, but she chose not to. She was sick of hearing their negativity. And as her own mother taught her, "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all!" Eva was glad to help her parents follow that rule. And with them out of the way, Eva was able to do as she pleased. Even if her parents weren't silenced, they would still be too afraid to go against her anyway.

By the end of the week, everyone at school loved and feared Eva. She always gave them whatever material items they liked, or got teachers to cancel classes whenever they were bored, and that resulted in Eva's popularity. But the students also wanted to avoid her wrath. After seeing what she had done to Lissa, they did everything they could to stay on her good side. If it meant laughing at jokes, telling her how pretty she looked, or simply waving hello whenever they saw her, that's exactly what they did.

As for Eva, she was in bliss....for a while anyway. After having to deal with a clingy Vince and friends that only wanted her for her power, she was getting a little tired. Not to mention how easily aggravated she got these days. Just recently, she had slammed a boy into the lockers for accidentally dropping a book in front of her and choked a girl for smiling at Vince. She'd have a constant scowl on her face, and that left everyone around her on edge.

It was finally Ball Night, and Eva stood in front of the mirror wearing her dark violet dress. She stared with solemnity at her black lined eyes and maroon colored lips. She found no spell to cover the ugly green patches growing all over her skin, so she made do with heavy amounts of makeup. Eva tilted her head. In a strange way, she thought she looked very regal. Witch-like even. She was beautiful, yet she didn't feel too happy about it. It seems as though nothing could make her truly happy. With a sigh, Eva waved her hand and transported herself to Vince's house.
