Eva and Vince spent most of their days glued to each other. He just could not keep his lips off her. Sometimes Eva would try and simply talk to him like they used to, but he always interrupted her with kissing. Eva enjoyed it at first, but now she didn't know what to feel. This is what love is, right?
As much as Eva tried being patient, it bothered her. She'd push him off, only for him to come running back and smacking his mouth onto hers.
Meanwhile at home, Eva's parents were still mute, and Eva had added a blocking spell to prevent them from coming near her. She could undo these at any time, but she was sick of their negativity. As her own mother had taught her, "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all!" Eva was more than glad to help her parents follow that rule. With them out of the way, Eva was able to do as she pleased. Even if her parents weren't silenced, they were clearly afraid of their daughter now, and wouldn't dare go against her anyway.
By the end of the month, the school was under Eva's command. While Eva didn't have all the qualities that would make her a true witch, students and faculty agreed she'd received her magic from one, so they did what they could to avoid her wrath, whether it meant cancelling classes and homework so she could be with Vince, laughing at her jokes, telling her how pretty she looked, or simply waving hello whenever they saw her.
Eva was happy enough....for a while anyway. After having to deal with a clingy Vince and friends that were only with her for fear of her power, she had to admit it was getting tiring, and not to mention, aggravating. Recently, she had slammed a boy into the lockers for accidentally dropping a book in front of her, and choked a girl for merely smiling at Vince. The scaly patches continued to spread.
On the evening of Ball Night, Eva stood in front of the mirror in a dark violet dress, gazing solemnly at her shadow lined eyes and maroon painted lips. She didn't know how to cover the ugly green patches growing all over her skin with magic, so she made do with heavy amounts of makeup.
Eva tilted her head. In a strange way, she thought she looked very regal. Witch-like even. She was beautiful, yet she wasn't satisfied. It seemed as though nothing could make her truly happy. With a sigh and a snap of two fingers, Eva transported herself to Vince's house.
