Lay down your head
and
I'll sing you a lullaby
back to the years
of loo-li lai-lay

"T-that voice!"

You looked around frantically searching for where the singing was coming from but all you could see was nothing but trees for miles and miles. Panicking, you chose a random direction that you felt the voice was probably coming from and sprinted in that direction.

And
I'll sing you to sleep
and
I'll sing you tomorrow
Bless you with love
for the road that you go

You had been running for what seemed like hours, jumping over logs, dodging low hanging branches and running through shallow streams until finally you reached an opening. You skidded to a stop, leaning over and placing your hands on your knees as you gasped for air.

Catching your breath, you walked further into the clearing looking around for any other signs of life. It didn't seem like there was anyone around, heck you hadn't even run into a single animal!

May you sail far
to the far fields of fortune
with diamonds and pearls
at your head and your feet

Your eyes widen as your heart starts pounding out of your chest.

"The v-voice it's closer!"

Your legs began to tremble in anticipation as you spun around to face a small hill to the right of the clearing.

"It sounds like its coming from just behind that hill..."

You took hesitant steps forward towards the hill. Hesitant steps soon turned into brisk walking until you finally broke into a sprint.

And may you need never
to banish misfortune
May you find kindness
in all that you meet

Excitement coursed through your veins as you ran up the last few feet of the hill. You stopped at the top of the hill straining your hearing in order to hear the melodic voice once more.
However, the voice had suddenly vanished leaving you to listen to nothing but complete silence.

A few minutes of utter silence seemed to feel like you had been waited on the hill for hours, sighing in defeat you began to walk down the hill, hanging your head low while slumping your shoulders, a posture that showed you had given up on trying to find the source of the enchanting voice.

With head hung low and a look of despair etched on your face you walked towards a nearby pond that was only about 12 feet away from the hill.

Reaching the waters edge, you gazed at your reflection. (H/l) (h/c)  was littered with bits of leaves and twigs while your once bright lively (e/c) eyes were now dull. Sighing, you sat down on a nearby rock, untangling the debris that was trapped in your hair.

Somehow a knot had formed around a small twig in a strand of (h/c), you tug, scratch, and try to untie the annoying piece of wood out of the lock of hair but to no avail.

It eventually got to the point were you became so frustrated that you started to yell profanities and kick up mud from the shoreline, letting out all of the pent up anger, despair and sadness that had accumulated over time when you had tried to find the source of the melody that had been tantalizing you.
As if on cue you heard some sort of sound coming from the other side of the pond. Instantly stopped your little tantrum, you listen closely to confirm or deny if you had actually heard another person. Questions were soon answered when the sound of soft humming filled the air. It seemed to be coming from behind a small waterfall that supplied the pound with freshwater.
Your breath hitches in your throat as the humming got significantly louder the closer you walked towards said waterfall.
The peaceful humming continued even when you stood so close to the waterfall that tiny stray droplets of water began to spray lightly onto your clothes and face.
