Gerard goes on a blind date and so does Frank, quite literally.
- fluff -
Gerard walked into the coffee shop, hands sweaty and heart racing. He hadn't gone a date in over a year, almost two, and was unbelievably nervous. His friend Ray set up the date for Gerard to meet his coworker. Ray gave a brief description of the guy, Frank, he was supposed to go on the date with. All he knew is that the guy was apparently really hot, short, had messy black hair, and wore black clothes.
Gerard's eyes scanned across the coffee shop, eyes landing on a man fumbling with his hands nervously that fit the description Ray gave him. Gerard's first thoughts were, "Wow he really is hot" and "What kind of douche wears sunglasses indoors?" Gerard walked over and sat at the seat across from him. Frank lifted up his head, "Gerard?" He asked, voice raspy and somewhat soothing.
"Uh, yeah. I'm guessing that means you're Frank." Gerard nervously chuckled, not knowing what to say or do. There was a short pause, that felt like an eternity, before Frank spoke up.
"Ray didn't tell you that I'm blind, did he?" Frank asked and Gerard mentally reminded himself to punch Ray in the face. Why wouldn't Ray tell him the guy he was going on a blind date with was blind? Because he's Ray, that's why.
"Uhm, no he didn't," Gerard answered, "not gonna lie at first I thought you were just an asshole who wore sunglasses inside." Frank laughed, running his hand through his hair.
"Well I'm glad you know now, or else this date would've been really awkward." Frank smiled, reaching his hand out. "Can I?" Gerard nodded in response, before realizing that Frank couldn't see him.
"Yeah, totally." Gerard blushed as Frank took his hand. Franks fingers ran across his palm gently, tracing around his fingers as if trying to memorize every crease. "It must be weird going on a date and not knowing what the other person looks like, huh?" Gerard wondered aloud, admiring the gentle touches Frank have to his hand.
"Yeah it's been awkward before, but I picture what somebody looks like based off their voice and what they like to talk about. So in a way I kinda know they look like, or at least what i imagine they do." Frank smiled, patting Gerard's hand before leaning back into his chair. Gerard frowned slightly at the loss of contact.
"What do I look like to you then?" Gerard asked, folding his hands in his lap awkwardly. He was glad Frank couldn't see how much he fumbled around and was nervous.
"Well I think you're taller than me, because most people are. You have brown hair and porcelain skin. You probably wear a lot of color and maybe have blue eyes?" Frank guessed, biting his lip in thought as he spoke.
"Well I am taller than you, I do have brown hair. I more so describe myself as a pastey white, but porcelain works too," He giggled, "I tend to stick to more neutral colors or black and white. Also I have hazel eyes, not blue." Gerard smiled, blushing. Frank leaned forward as Gerard spoke, occasionally nodding.
"I was close." Frank laughed. "Hey wanna leave this shop? It's kinda stuffy in here." Gerard nodded in response, getting up to leave. Franks walking stick hit at chairs and table legs, so Gerard just grabbed onto his arm and led him out the door. "Thanks." Frank smiled, blushing as they linked arms and walked outside. His corduroy jacket was soft against Franks hands, holding on tightly to him.
"Where are we going?" Frank asked, slightly nervous as he didn't know where he was. His grip on Gerard's arm tightened, walking closer to him.
"Oh! Just walking around the park on Cherry Street." Gerard reassured Frank, rubbing his hand over Franks gently. "Do you want to go somewhere else?"
"No! I just have no idea where I am, so I had to ask." Frank smiled as they sat down on a bench, hearing people and animals in the distance. "Do you mind if I touch your face?" Frank asked as he turned to face Gerard, "Just to kinda know what you look like."
"I don't mind, go ahead." Gerard blushed as Franks hands touched his warm cheeks first.
"You're blushing." Frank noted quietly, hands roaming across Gerard's face gently. His fingers ran over his eyelids and eyelashes, tracing the outline of his bone structure as well. Franks fingers moved across Gerard's thin lips gently and Gerard's breath hitched as he blushed even brighter.
Frank blushed as well, hands moving to the back of Gerard's neck to pull him gently into a kiss. He missed the first time, kissing half of Gerard's mouth. Gerard giggled, moving to properly kiss Frank.
It was sweet and short. Gerard felt his head spinning when he pulled away, lips tingling slightly. "I really like you." Frank giggled, only inches away from Gerard.
"I like you too." Gerard breathed out, "Now would you kiss me again?" Frank laughed, capturing Gerard's lips again into a kiss. This might've been the best blind date he's ever been on.
