Beomgyu's eyes searched for the younger male that had caught his attention that year, flicking over every student that left the school building. He frowned, not seeing Taehyun anywhere. He hopped on the spot in impatience. Eventually, the brunette boy walked out the building, walking beside the tall junior that was his best friend.

"Beommie!" Taehyun suddenly grinned, waving his hand excitedly. He turned to thr boy beside him, saying something and putting a hand gently on the boy's arm. The boy pouted and nodded. They walked towards Beomgyu together.

"Hey," Beomgyu greeted with a smile. "You're Kai, right?"

The tall boy nodded. "Yes, I am. Taehyun hyung said he wants to walk with you. I'll see you tomorrow, hyung."

Taehyun waved with a gentle smile on his lips. "See you, Kai." Kai smiled and walked away. Taehyun smiled and turned to Beomgyu. "Uhm… where's your brother?"

"Yeonjun walks him home," Beomgyu replied. "Why are you asking?"

Taehyun hummed, looking to his right for a moment before looking at Beomgyu again. "Well, he usually walks with you. I was wondering why he wasn't here today."

"I told them to walk ahead of me so that I could be with you," Beomgyu smiled, stepping closer to the boy. "I hope that isn't a problem, TaeTae."

Taehyun blushed and looked away. "You're seriously so embarrassing."

Beomgyu laughed a vociferous laugh. "I'm not embarrassing! Come, let's go home."

"Actually, I wanted to go buy a milkshake first. Join me?" Taehyun asked, tilting his head as an extra way to convince Beomgyu. The blonde boy hummed in pretense.

"Okay, I'll go with. Only if you're buying, because I don't have money with me," Beomgyu replied after a bit. Taehyun laughed a bit and nodded. With that, they began walking off the school grounds. They kept that bit of space between them as they walked to the busier side of town.

"We're going to Galaxy," Taehyun said, his voice slightly strained because he was stretching his arms above his head.

"Are you tired?" Beomgyu asked.

"Kind of," the younger male sighed out after he stopped stretching. "I had a math test today, so two hours of silence is kind of boring."

"Aw," Beomgyu pouted in a sympathetic manner. "I hope you did well, though. You're smart, right?"

"Smarter than you," Taehyun teased with a slight giggle. "I'm joking, I'm joking. You're pretty smart too."

Beomgyu grinned haughtily. "Of course I'm smart. Maybe smarter than you."

Taehyun rolled his eyes. "Maybe."

Beomgyu hummed, looking up at the sky in silence. They walked quietly in a comfortable silence that didn't seem to bother them. They just seemed content with being with one another.

"Taehyun, is Soobin a better person than me?"

Taehyun looked at Beomgyu's sudden downcast expression in confusion and shock. "Why would you ask that?"

"Because everyone likes Soobin," Beomgyu replied quickly. "Soobin is the light of the world while I'm the shadow he casts. I'm nothing compared to him. Honestly, do you think he's a better person than me?"

Taehyun thought carefully about his words before he decided to speak. "Soobin may be smarter than you, more handsome than you and probably have more common sense than you…" He stepped sideways to the male, putting a hand on his shoulder. "… but you're Choi Beomgyu, the guy that stole my heart. I didn't fall for you because you were handsome, or because you're an idiot. I fell for you because you're not afraid to be you. Soobin's trying to be what others want him to be. You're yourself, and that's the best type of person."

Beomgyu stared for a moment before smiling. "You're so amazing, you know?"

Taehyun covered his eyes with one hand and hit Beomgyu with another while laughing. "You're a little embarrassing too! Look, there's the cafe."

The two walked to the quaint little cafe that had a bookstore connected to it. Beomgyu raised an eyebrow as they walked through the door. Beomgyu looked around — it had quite a high ceiling. "So this is Galaxy, huh?"

Taehyun nodded. "There's a bookstore and stationary store connected at the back. So what do you want to get?"

Beomgyu hummed as he read over the different drinks they could order. "Cinnamon ice tea?"

Taehyun made a sound of happiness. "That's my favourite! We can both get one."

"How does it taste?" Beomgyu asked, looking over at the younger with curious eyes.

"Like ice tea, but with a bit of a cinnamon kick. It tastes great, trust me," Taehyun smiled. "Let's go order before the line gets any longer."

Soon, Taehyun had given his order to the girl up front. She greeted him cheerfully, as if she knew him. That was most likely due to the fact that Taehyun was a regular customer. She announced that their orders would be ready soon and Taehyun bowed politely.

"Let's go look for a new book to buy while we wait," Taehyun suggested, pointing at the bookstore. Beomgyu nodded silently and they walked together to browse the bookshelves of brand new books that the brunette boy could buy.

"Who's your favourite author?" Beomgyu asked. Taehyun hummed, not looking from the bookshelf. He suddenly gasped, reaching for a book.

"Go Ji Hyun's Who Cares! I've been looking everywhere for this book!" he squealed, hugging the book to his chest. "I love Go Ji Hyun. He writes about about the struggles that people of the LGBTQ community have to go through. He's a bisexual and he's literally my idol."

Beomgyu held his hand out and Taehyun handed him the book. Beomgyu observed the cover and read the blurb at the back of the book. "Sounds interesting. Can I read it when you're done with it?"

Taehyun raised an eyebrow. "You want to read? That's new." Nonetheless, he smiled. "Of course you can."

"Order #142!"

"That's ours," Beomgyu said. He snaked an arm around Taehyun's shoulder, like the coy person he was, as they walked to the front desk to get their ice teas.
