autumn breeze

Taehyun pouted a bit as the gentle breeze attacked him from his right, blowing a few leaves at him. He sighed, looking around the neighbourhood. Beomgyu said that it was the street he resided in, but the neighbourhood looked rather posh. Everyone seemed like they were extremely rich. He felt rather out of place. Well, he was probably in a good enough financial situation to afford a house here, but that was besides the point.

Taehyun soon found Beomgyu's house, seeing the number '142' in front. Nervously, Taehyun neared the house. As promised, there were no cars in the driveway. Taehyun pressed the buzzer and after a few seconds, the gate opened.

He walked in, seeing Beomgyu standing on the veranda. The blonde wore a large brown sweatshirt with an unmatching gray sweatpants. Taehyun smiled widely amd waved as he walked closer to the blonde boy.

"Your hoodie and sweatpants don't match," Taehyun giggled as he stepped in front of the boy.

"Kind of rushed — I was naked when I remembered that you were coming over," Beomgyu chuckled. He took Taehyun's hand, pulling him into the house gently. Taehyun blushed slightly as Beomgyu closed the door. "Let's watch a movie together."

"I can't be too long, okay? I actually just came to check on you," Taehyun said, slowly letting go of Beomgyu's hand.

"Actually…" Beomgyu stopped, taking both of Taehyun's hands in his own. "Uhm, I think I should have done this a while ago, but because I'm such a coward — and maybe an idiot as well. I think it was really obvious to everyone and to you as well, but I was an idiot."

Taehyun gripped his hands back, gently as possible. "Just say what you need to say."

Beomgyu looked down, shyly and bashfully. "Uhm… I… I like you. A lot. I can't even say 'like'. It's more… than that? I don't know what to say. It's too much to say 'like' and it's not enough to be love just yet. I want to be with you. To tell you every day that I… that I love you. I want to kiss you, and hold you close, and go on cheesy dates and buy more Go Ji Hyun books with you — I want to dedicate every second of my time to you and just be with you."

Taehyun slowly started smiling, the grin on his lips growing larger at every second. "I… I like you too. Enough to say that I love you. It may a little premature, but I'm ready to say that I love you."

Beomgyu smiled softly. "I'm glad you're there already. I'm ready too, but I want to fall further in love with you first. But please — be mine, Kang Taehyun."

Taehyun let out a little laugh. "I'd want it no other way."

Beomgyu let out a little sound as his gentle smile turned into a grin. "Oh my God, I'm dating the prettiest boy in the 11th grade."

"How do you know I'm the prettiest? If anything, Kai is the prettiest person in the 11th grade," Taehyun scoffed. Beomgyu rolled his eyes, clearly denying the statement, but preferred not to comment. He rather stared into Taehyun's large child-like eyes, a gentle smile playing upon his lips. Taehyun leaned foward, putting a gentle kiss on his cheek.

Beomgyu blushed bright red after Taehyun retracted slowly. "Wh-what—"

"If we're dating, then I'm allowed to do that," Taehyun replied, rolling his eyes slightly. "I don't want to stay too long — just in case that man in the white car sees us together again."

"Just to clarify, that was my father."

"He's a meanie."

Beomgyu chuckled. "He won't be back for a few hours, though. And as much as I want to kiss you right now, I actually want to keep our first kiss for our first official date — 1pm, Saturday afternoon."

Taehyun giggled. "I'll be sure to be there."

Taehyun closed the front door to his house with a dreamy sigh. His mother shot him an stamge look before continuing her cooking. "You're rather late today. Where were you?"

Taehyun smiled. "Falling in love."

His mother raised an eyebrow before smiling. "Really? Tell me about it over dinner, okay? Did you do your homework wherever you were?"

"No, I met with a friend. He was absent today, so I went to see him," Taehyun answered. "I just need to complete my social studies worksheet and then I'll be with you downstairs, okay, Mom?"

"Not a problem, dear," Ms Kang smiled.

Taehyun rushed upstairs, dropping his backpack onto his bed. He pulled off his school clothing, tossing it into the laundry basket. He pulled on a large baby pink hoodie and sweatpants. He took his math notebook out of his backpack and walked over to the desk by the window.

Instead of doing his homework, he took out his phone from the compartment in his backpack. He checked for any messages and saw two from Beomgyu.

> miss you too, sweetie 💞

Taehyun out his phone down, taking a pen from the many gel pens in a container beside his former container. He smiled as he eyed the numerous love letters Beomgyu wrote for him in the past. He picked up one, reminiscing about the note the older wrote. He opened the letter, choosing to read it.

Dear TaeTae
Your smile looks very pretty today. Ahh, I love your smile so much. It just lights up my world. Your smile is what adds to your prettiness. I would do anything just so that you can smile for every second that we are together. I want nothing more than for you to be happy. I'm sorry if I can't offer as much happiness as you want, but I'll do my best to make you smile every day. Love you lots ♡
— Beommie

Taehyun smiled softly, hugging the note gently to his chest. "He's so sweet…!" Taehyun couldn't stop thinking about how he was one of the luckiest people alive to be with Choi Beomgyu.
