Kai was nervous as he waited for Taehyun to arrive at school the following day. Yeonjun and Soobin were just across the courtyard, as they had just arrived. He wondered if they still wanted an answer — because Kai wanted nothing more than to be loved by them both. But he was scared — what if the love in a polygamous relationship wasn't as equal as it seemed? What if he was somehow still a third wheel?
"Kai!"
He was snapped out of his inner monologue when he heard his name being called. To his consternation, it was Yeonjun that had called him. He watched in worry, fear and horror as the older male approached him nonchalantly, as if he and his boyfriend hadn't asked him out the day before.
"Good morning, hyung," Kai mumbled, bowing politely. He was surprised that he hadn't stuttered thus far.
"Morning, baby," Yeonjun smiled. Soobin stood next to him and waved at the similarly tall boy.
"Do you have an answer yet?" Soobin asked softly.
Kai blushed bright red and looked down. "I… I don't know, hyung. I'm… w-worried…"
Soobin gently touched the younger's arm, frowning in concern. "About what, little angel? What could possibly worry you?"
Kai flushed once more and he stared down at the ground. "I-I'm worried th-that I m-might be intruding in your r-relationship…"
Yeonhun chuckled. "There's a reason we asked you, little angel. We want you to be with us. If you don't like us back, just say so. Then we can back off."
Kai shook his head. "No, I do like you — more than you think. But…"
"Then it's settled. Now you're dating us," Soobin grinned. Kai shook his head, his blush growing deeper. Yeonjun leaned to his ear, a low chuckle erupting from his throat.
"Don't worry, baby. Anything you're worried about will disappear soon," he smiled. "Besides, we'll prove ourselves this afternoon, remember? We have a date."
Kai flushed a bit. "I forgot about that."
Soobin took his hand. "We need to remember this day."
Yeonnun hummed. "Yeah. The day we started dating the prettiest boy in the school."
Kai groaned in embarrassment as the blush on his cheeks refused to die down. "I'm not pretty, oh my gosh…"

Taehyun's looked up when his name was called by his teacher. He looked at Mrs Yeong, putting his pencil down. "Yes, Mrs Yeong?"
"Could you go to Mr Lau's class and get the 11th grade noun worksheet, please?" she asked, giving him a sweet smile. Taehyun, being the good student he was, nodded and stood up. As far as Taehyun knew, Beomgyu had Mr Lau for English, so he'd get to see his boyfriend.
"Just the papers, miss?" Taehyun asked as he reached the door.
"No, can you also ask Zhong Chenle and Choi Beomgyu to come to my class, please? I need to have a word with them," she added. Taehyun smiled widely and nodded. The walk to Mr Lau's class wasn't very far, which meant that his time with Beomgyu would be limited.
Taehyun arrived at Mr Lau's class. He was about to knock, but he heard a loud voice inside the class. Mr Lau's voice echoed back after the first voice completed their yelling. Taehyun frowned, finally knocking on the door, but the door was suddenly flung open.
"This is bullshit! I don't care what the fucking principal says!"
Someone stormed past him, not even apologizing when they bumped into Taehyun. The younger was about to complain, but stopped. That was the blonde hair of his boyfriend. "Hyung."
Beomgyu turned around sharply, his expression still hard and angry. It softened a bit at the sight of Taehyun, but he still looked fairly angry. "Babe—"
"Are you swearing at teachers?" Taehyun frowned, stepping towards him slowly.
Beomgyu swore under his breath before inhaling sharply. "He was working on my nerves—"
"Is that a reason to swear at teachers?" Taehyun asked. "I didn't think you were that type of person."
"I'm not that type of person, I swear," Beomgyu said quickly. "I don't always do this. It's just… I…"
"I think you need to go to the principal's office," Taehyun said quickly. "Mr Lau didn't sound happy with you. Just go."
"Baby, just listen to me. I'm not like this, I swear." Beomgyu grabbed Taehyun's wrist gently in an attempt to convince, but the younger shook him off.
"I wondered why Kai called you a bad guy — now I know," Taehyun said in a rather cold manner. Beomgyu felt his stomach churning with terrible guilt. "Go to the office. Before you get into more trouble."
"We need to talk after school," the older told him.
Taehyun hesitantly nodded. "I hope I'll get an explanation."
"Why are you talking to this disrespectful child?" Mr Lau walked out the class, scowling angrily at Beomgyu who only glared back. "I already contacted Mr Shin, he's expecting you."
"Later," Taehyun nodded. Beomgyu stared for a moment before walking away. Mr Lau sighed, pushing a hand through his hair.
"That boy works on my nerves every day," he muttered coldly. He suddenly smiled widely abd turned to Taehyun. "How can I help you, my boy?"
Taehyun hummed. "Mrs Yeong wants the 11th grade noun worksheets, please. And she would like to see Zhong Chenle and Choi Beomgyu, but…"
"Yes, the rude one is gone to the office," Mr Lau sighed. "What is your relationship with that boy? How are you friends with him?"
"We're not friends…" Taehyun's cheeks slowly turned red. "We're dating, but it's recent."
"Dating? Wow, I'm surprised that you can be so open about it already," Mr Lau hummed. "In my opinion, he would probably be a lousy boyfriend. He barely puts effort into himself, why would he put effort into a relationship?"
"He puts too much effort into the relationship, actually," Taehyun smiled. "He's much better behind closed doors. He has… a certain image, you know? Popular boy. But with me, he's cute and shy. And he shows me that he likes me."
"If only he'd learn to respect everyone else like he respects you," Mr Lau sighed. "Come, the worksheets are on my desk. Come fetch them."
