The next actress was up and Zendaya walked into the room. I got up to shake her hand and she went in for a hug. Totally award, especially with her father towering in the door way.
"Hi, I'm Tom." I said trying to recover from my embarrassment.
"Zendaya, nice to meet you." she smiled.
"Here's your seat, we can get started." I added. I felt butterflies which was strange because no one else had that impact so far.
We started going through the script and everything was going well. I decided to improvise to see how she would react. Zendaya didn't miss a beat. It was like everyone in the room disappeared.
"I think we're good." Jon, the director, beamed.
"Thanks guys!" Zendaya murmured quietly.
I walked her to the door. "I hope to see you on set." I whispered with a sly grin.
"Even though you tried throwing me off!" she laughed.
"I just wanted to see how you improvised. I was impressed." I stated matter of factly.
She smiled brightly with a ting of red on her cheeks. "Thanks, see you around Tom Holland." She walked away with her Dad.
Jon turned to the rest of the casting directors, " I think we found our Michelle!" I silently agreed.
After getting back to the hotel I proceeded to google Zendaya. I found out she was a really popular Disney actress. Disney kids didn't have the best reputation for being reliable or having good acting skills. From our brief interaction I knew that wasn't true. I continued scrolling through posts, she was a singer and dancer too. We seemed to have a lot in common. It also looked like she had a boyfriend. That sucks I thought in my head. Wait what?
