Chapter Two

"He's running on no sleep, Shiro, give him a break." Lance stood near Keith, who sat on the couch, watching the floor. Lance was defending him, he didn't want him to.

Shiro yelled back, the team had never seen him this angry. "Really?" His tone scared Keith. "He's that dependent on sleep? Lance, I've known him longer than you-"

"I don't care if you've known him longer."

Shiro glared, nostrils flaring. "As I was saying," he spat, "I've seen him running on no sleep for days. There's no reason for his behavior." Keith looked over at Coran, who stood at the far end of the room. He glanced over, quickly avoiding eye contact. Keith felt hollow in his chest and rubbed his eyes. He didn't think something so small could have such a big impact. He wanted to sleep desperately.

"Calm down, it's over," Lance pleaded. "Move on and try to fix the situation."

Shiro angrily looked over at Allura, who pursed her lips and looked at the floor. He then looked directly at Keith, who looked away to keep from looking him in the eyes. "You're going to clean the training equipment tomorrow," he ordered, "all of it, spotless."

Keith nodded, keeping his eyes trained on the floor until Shiro stormed out. "I'm sorry," he said quietly.

"It's okay," Allura promised, giving him an expression of disappointment. "We'll figure out this curse thing while you sleep. What did you say the name was again?"

Keith cleared his throat, remembering the curse again. "Ibu menyeramkan."

"Okay," she nodded, "now go get some sleep. Lance?"

Lance nodded, turning around and waving for Keith to follow him. Keith slowly got up, his eyes blurring for a moment from exhaustion. He followed Lance to the hall his room was located, waved goodnight and watched as Lance headed down the hall and out of sight.

He turned around and opened his room door, looking inside and noticing a figure sitting on his bed. "Hello?" He called, turning on the light and seeing nothing. He rubbed his eyes, blaming it on exhaustion and turning off the light again, seeing the figure again, only this time standing near the bed. "Who are you?" He asked, scared. His bayard materialized in his hand and he pointed the sword at the figure. "What do you want from me?" It moved forward, almost gliding and Keith turned on the light again, seeing nothing.

He began to panic, stepping back and running down the hall, leaving the light on. He hurried around a corner, seeing Lance and yelling. "Lance!" He stumbled, twisting his ankle. He fell to the ground, landing on his elbows and dropping the sword watching it slide across the floor. "Lance," he panted. "There's- there's a person-"

"Hey," Lance cooed, "it's okay, what's wrong? What happened?" He knelt down, grabbing Keith's hands and helping him up. "Talk to me."

Keith explained what happened in mumbled words, still freaking out as Lance checked him for injuries. "There was a person," he managed, shaking, "it flew across the room," he took a shaky breath, "I think its ibu menyeramkan."

"Okay, let's not jump to conclusions," Lance said, running his hand through Keith's hair to calm him. "Does anything hurt?"

Keith nodded. "I twisted my ankle," he said, shifting his weight onto the injured ankle and flinched when it hurt.

"Okay," Lance said for the billionth time. "Let's get you to the infirmary. I think you're hallucinating from the lack of sleep."

Keith shook his head. "But that happens after several days of no sleep."
