One Year later

Seth's P.O.V

Today was Marlana's first signing with me since she gave birth to our beautiful daughter Paisley. She has recently been back in the ring training as well, getting ready for her comeback. I know she's nervous but I just know that our fans are ready to see her once again.

I walk in the room and she had just put Paisley down for her nap.

"It's crazy, isn't it? She turns one tomorrow and I feel like I just gave birth to her yesterday." She tells me.

I walk up behind her, wrapping my arms around her waist. "You're such a good mother, Marlie." I whisper in her ear and I can feel her smiling. She turns around in my arms to look up at me with a huge smile. "And you're a great father." She tells me and I bend down to kiss her.

"Babysitter is downstairs. Ready to go?" She nods at me and grabs her bag and we make our way downstairs.

We had been driving for a few minutes and she was oddly quiet. "Penny for your thoughts, darlin." I ask her. She turns to me, big brown eyes fully of wary.

"What if no one remembers me?" She asks and I rest my hand on her thigh. "Trust me baby, they remember you." I tell her. Giving her the reassurance she needed. She let's out a long sigh and I lift my hand from her thigh, clasping it with her other hand. "Everything will be okay babe. Trust me."

We were a few hours into the signing already and I feel Marlana get really tense. "Marlie, something wrong?" I ask her while we wait for the next people in line to get their turn.

"Call me crazy." She stops and goes back to whispering in my ear, "But I think that one woman has a gun."  She says and then sits back up in her chair. "That's absurd. We have the greatest security, you know that." I tell her.

"You don't find it weird that the first signing we come together is in your hometown? What if she's a crazed fan?" She says frantically.

I wrap my arm around her tightly. "Even if she does, do you think that I would let anything happen to you?"

"Not if I had anything to do with it."

"What are you talking about?" I ask her and the woman she suspects walks up.

"Hi seth, I love you so much." The fan tells me. "Thank you."

"I just dont get why you're with her." The fan says. "Excuse me?" I stand up and Marlana is quick to stand with me. "You heard me. If i can't have you, no one can."

It was the last thing I heard before a gunshot. Everyone starts screaming and running and I've lost hearing.

One thing didn't make sense though. It was just the loss of hearing I had. That was until I looked down and saw Marlana on the ground in front of me.

She had taken a bullet for me.

No no no no. This couldn't be happening. It should have been me. It should have been me.

"Seth, we came as soon as we heard." Candice says as her and Johnny both give me a hug.

"I should have listened to her. It should be me in there."

"No, Seth. You can't think like that." Candice tells me.

"Candice she told me she thought the woman had a gun and I just shrugged her off. What kind of husband am I?"

"Seth, blaming yourself won't get her back to you any sooner " She says.

"I should have listened to her. It should have been me. She told me. She was so scared. I told her nothing would happen to her and she said not it she had anything to do with it. She knew she was gunna jump and take that bullet. It all happened so fast." At this point I was sobbing and I was pulled from Candice and placed on another shoulder.

"She is going to be okay. She's a fighter. You know she is." I look up and it's Jon.

"Jon, what are you doing here?"

"I came as soon as I heard. You didn't think I wouldn't be here did you?"

"I figured you would be too busy."

"You would do the same if it were renee."

"I can't lose her. Our daughter turns 1 tomorrow. She'll be devastated that she missed it."

"Marlana has always been brave. She knew what she was doing and what the cost may be. She will wake up and everything will be okay."

"I just wish I would have listened to her. She was making her comeback. She didn't deserve this."

"Mr. Rollins?" The doctor calls and I walk up to him. "Yes? How's my wife?"

"The good news is, the surgey went well. The bad news is, she's in a coma. She could wake up tomorrow or 3 years from now. I'm sorry. We did everything we could."

"Thank you doctor. Can I see her?"

"Right this way."

He takes me to her room and there she was, lying there, beautiful as ever and I knew I had to do anything in my power to bring her back.

"You've gotta fight this Marlie. I know you can beat this. I love you. Paisley loves you. Please come back to us. Please.
