Burn It Down (A sequel to Architect of my heart)

Chapter Ten.

I have failed everyone.

All everybody asks is if we're okay and when he's coming back.

How do I answer, when even I have no idea?

From what I've heard, Seth relinquished the universal title due to "injury" but I know that isn't true.

Is he in trouble? Had Finn figured something out? Why wasn't Hanna talking to me?

I failed everyone.

Something just didn't sit right with me. I had a hunch that something more was going on and I was going to find out.

Finn Balor

"FINN BALOR" I hear my name yelled all the way down the hall and Marlana bursts through the door and I quickly cover up me and Hanna.

"We're a little busy Marlana."

"Hell no. Fuck you. Where the fuck is my husband?! I know you met with him so tell me now, where is he?!" She screams and Hanna slowly sits up in bed, clutching the sheets to her skin.

"You told her? Really Hanna?"

"If it were you, I would want to know." Hanna tells me and I sigh running my hand over my face.

"Look Marlana, he doesn't want to be found! Just get over it."

"Fuck you Finn. This isnt some high school crush, he's my fucking husband and the father of our child. I need you to tell me, please." She says sliding down the wall, bringing her knees up to her chest. "I don't know how much more I can take. Just tell me something."

"Okay fine." I say before taking in a breath and glancing at Hanna. "Seth is okay. He still loves you. He is just caught up in a bad situation."

"What kind of bad situation?" Marlana asks me, her eyes full of worry.

"That part, we actually don't know. He's been threatened. So basically if he comes in contact with you, he will be killed."

All I felt was my blood run cold after that sentence. He was in danger. My husband was in danger.

"We have to help him Finn. We need to get to the bottom of this." I tell him and he nods in agreement.

"I'm sorry for barging in. It's just been so hard without him."

"Marlana, you don't need to apologize."

"I just want my husband back."

"We know you do." Hanna tells me.

"Well I'll let yall get back to fucking. Text me later?" I ask and they nod and I make my way out of the door and down the hall.

Time to plan saving my husband.

Finn had finally given me the address to where he had met with Seth. He kept telling me it was dangerous and that I should listen to him. Nothing mattered more than getting my husband back.

I pull up to the cabin and slowly get out of the car.

I walk up to the door and knock. I've never been so anxious about a door opening in my entire life.

"Marlana?" He asks and quickly pulls me inside. "What are you doing here?" He asks me, looking frantic.

"Seth, I've been worried about you. What the hell is going on?"

"Marlana, darlin, I need you to go and forget that you saw me. Forget that you even know me."

"You're my fucking husband."

"Marlana, please. You're making this harder." He says, choking on his words.

"Seth, what is going on?" He turns away from me, running his hands over his face and through his hair.

"Marlana, I just need you to go. Just know that I love you and I love Paisley."

I just feel my heart shatter and my eyes start to water. My back hits the wall and I slide down. "What did I do to you? Is there something I need to change about me? Is it how I am after the coma? I get I'm not back to 100 percent but I'm trying." He cuts me off by slamming his lips against mine.

He takes my hand and helps me up. "There is nothing wrong with you. I love you for the way that you are."

"Then what is so wrong that you can't tell me?" He leads me into the bedroom and we sit on the bed.

"I'm trying to keep you safe. Finn didn't tell you?"

"He did but he was very vague."

"Listen, you can stay with me tonight but when you leave in the morning, you have to forget about me. Forget about everything. You need to move on. I need you to promise me that."

"Seth, I can't just forget you. I love you. You're my husband and we have a daughter."

"Listen, I got in with a bad crowd and trust me it's better if we just go out separate ways."

"I'm your wife. Do you not remember put vows? I'm here for you. You can tell me what's going on. I mean if you cheated just tell me."

"I would never cheat on you Marlana."

"Then what did you do?"

"You wouldn't believe me if I told you."

"Please Seth, I'm so worried. I don't sleep, I barely eat. I can't do it anymore Seth. I just can't."

He pulls me into his arms and squeezes me tightly. "I'm sorry I'm putting you through all of this. I have your best interest at heart. Please know that."

"Are you in trouble Seth?" I ask him, pulling away and looking at him. He nods at me and I wipe a tear away. "Whatever it is, we can get through it."

"Marlana you don't understand."

"Then help me understand."

"Let's just say that if they saw us together right now, they would shoot is both dead."

"Who is they?" I ask him and he looks up at me.

"They are bad news darlin. Bad news."
