Chapter Fourteen

Hanna's P.O.V

"Has anyone seen Marlana since the night we left the hospital? Or even talked to her?" I ask the room full of men.

"No, but I made sure she got home safe that night." Roman says.

"I've tried calling but she doesn't answer." Jon says.

"Yeah, same here." I say and my mind starts to wonder. "Do y'all think she's okay?" I ask.

"Why don't we swing by her and Seth's place and see if she's there?" Renee asks.

"Yeah, that's a good idea. Let's head out." Finn says.

We pull up to the house and I knock several times but there's no answer.

I finally give up and go to the spot where the spare key is and me and Finn walk inside. "Marlana?"I call out but there's no answer. I walk into their bedroom and no one's there. Paisley's room is also empty so she must have taken her with her.

"Why don't we check the hospital too?" Finn asks and I nod and we leave the house.

We pull up to the hospital and quickly make our way inside. We get inside and make our way to Seth's room. Renee, Jon, and Roman are already there. "Is she here?" I ask and they all shake their heads. "Is that her? Is Marlana here?" I hear another voice say. Everyone around the bed moves and I see that the other voice was Seth. He was awake and his wife was missing.

Seth's P.O.V

"Guys?" I ask and everyone moves out of the way and I see Hanna.

"Seth, we can't find her." Hanna says and my heart drops to my stomach.

"What do you mean? Where is she? Is she okay?" My heart starts to race and the pain in my stomach shoots through again.

"Seth calm down, we will find her." Hanna tells me. "There is another thing though Seth." Hanna starts to say but then stops.

"What is it?" I ask and she looks at Finn like she's terrified to tell me.

"Um, when we went to your house, Paisley was gone too. We're hoping they're together."

"She must have found it." I tell the room full of people. They all look at me, awaiting my answer.

"The note I left her."

Marlana's P.O.V

Dear Marlana,

If you're reading this, something has gone terribly wrong. You need to take Paisley and run. Get somewhere safe. I'm so sorry Marlie. I need you to know that I never had meaning to my life until you came into it. You gave me a life I deserved, even though I was never going to be good enough for you. You gave me a daughter and you made me a husband. I will never be able to repay you for that. I'm so sorry I got you into this mess. I'm sorry I didn't tell you about it. I just wanted you and Paisley to be safe and if me dying was the sacrifice to pay for that, then I'm not sorry.

Please don't cry darlin, I'll always be in your heart. Forever.  I will never forget you. I can promise you that. You and Paisley were the best things to happen to me.
