Love
Sonora Roman
It's not chocolates or roses
Not sweet nothings whispered into quivering ears
It's not candlelight dinners or sunsets
Not unforseen kisses or even shed tears
Now these gestures aren't bad they're sweet to the senses
and make your heart smile with a rose petal blush
But it's only a flicker of a more beautiful flame
It's a flame that licks your heart
To burn away shame, hurt, fear, and insecurity
Then softer than moonlight
Their love trickles in
Caressing the scars you thought were so ugly
And lifting you as high as you can go
When you find that,
You will know
