Underneath the Skin
Sonora Roman
He touched something
Underneath the skin
Where the eye can never reach
But can somehow be seen.
He dove head first into sea of insecurity
Where I was floundering, almost drowning.
To save me
He touched something
Underneath the skin
That the fingers can never grasp
But it still felt
He opened right up that record of wrongs
I kept for myself and ripped out the pages
One by one
Everything He did He did for love of me
He broke Himself for my affection
He pointed me in His direction
And now He just wants to get
Underneath the skin
