The start of a new school year was strange for Thea. Now that she had discovered who Spider-Man was it was not necessary for her to attend school. She previously told herself that as soon as the mission was over she would ditch that school. But now that she has met so many great people at the school, she couldn't bear to see them go.

A knocking sounded on her apartment door, a familiar style of knocking that she had grown to remember. With a smile present on her face, Thea opened the door to see Peter Parker smiling back at her.

"Hey there Pete." Thea smiled sweetly. She pulled Peter into a close embrace with a single arm. "Ready for the first day of the school year?" Thea turned around to grab her backpack with was set on the countertop near her. She effortlessly swung the bag on as she heard Peter say.

"As ready as I'll ever be." Peter took a step backward into the hall, waiting for Thea to follow suit. "I'm not to keen on being one of the loser's again this year."

Thea grabbed her keys from her pocket and locked the front door behind her as she said, "Well, hopefully with me here we will be able to change that." She said this with a wink as she tossed Peter something. Peter, who saw this coming, caught it with one hand and raised an eyebrow at what it was.

"A key?"

Thea began to walk down the hall, toward the stairs as she yelled back at Peter, "As long as we are friends I don't see a problem with you having a key to my apartment." Peter scoffed out in disbelief at Thea. With a smile present on his face, Peter yelled back jokingly, "Well maybe we shouldn't be friends!"

Thea took a short pause on her way to the end of the hall and pivoted around to see Peter catching up to her. "What are you insinuating Parker? There's a lot that could be taken from that sentence." Peter tilted his head in a confused matter, but in one rapid change, his eyes grew wide as his skin changed to a slight red hue.

"I-I didn't mean, well maybe - no I didn't!" Peter stuttered out, his eyes refusing to look at Thea directly. Thea smirked and sighed out, "Man, oh well." She teased Peter with a wink. "What is that supposed to mean!?" Peter shouted out at Thea, who was already clicking the elevator button.

The soft ringing of the elevator let Thea know that it was ready to go down. And without looking behind her, she stepped back into the elevator and said. "Whatever you want it to." With a  swift movement, the elevator doors closed, leaving Peter in the hallway, with nothing but his thoughts.

With a muttered voice, Peter spoke out, "I swear that girl is going to be the end of me."

Luckily for Peter, Thea waited outside the apartment complex for him after she left him in the hallway. They both took the train that dropped them right outside the steps of Midtown. The train was packed with people and noisy. It held many different people from different walks of life, but stuck in the middle of it was Thea and Peter. Peter had one earbud in, listening to music-and one out-prepared to listen to Thea if she said anything.
