Joey's timer went off, he could now take his lunch break. He grabbed his bag and sat at a table where the waiters could eat.

He was joined by his friends Whitney and Cat who sat down giggling.

"Let me guess, a cute boy?" Joey looked at the two.

"Cute and handsome! Maybe you should go talk to him." Whitney got excited.

"Yeah, since you're single!" Cat spoke.

"No no no, no boyfriends for me for now."

"Oh come on Joey, you have been single for 3 months!"

"Yeah, single and not ready to mingle, especially after what happened with Pierson."

"Not every guy is like him Joey, I know it was tough but atleast give other guys a chance." Cat said.

"A chance to tell me lies and cheat on me? Listen, I don't think i'm ready for another relationship, it can wait."

"Pierson was a dick for doing that, it won't hurt if you get to know the guy first, as a friend." Whitney said.

"It's the second time we saw him, he seems to like it here." Cat said, she already finished eating her food.

"Yeah, I guess.." Joey sighed and got up so they could continue working. The girls forgot to tell who the guy was and served a few tables, they had no time to talk. On the other hand, Joey waited for more clients to enter.

"Excuse me?"

"Yes?" Joey turned around when he heard a man's voice.

"Are all of these books for sale?"

"No, just this section." he pointed at a shelf with a few books wrapped in clear paper.

"Okay, thanks!"

"No problem." Joey smiled and grabbed a magazine, quickly flipping through a few pages. He would check once in a while if there are any new clients coming in.

"You like to read?" the man's voice was heard again. Joey turned around to awnser him.

"Once in a while, not books though, just magazines."

"Why not?"

"I don't have the interest to be reading a whole book, I feel like i'll get bored of it."

The man let out a small laugh.

"That has not happened to me and, I never had the interest to start reading books either but here I am, looking for my 3rd one to read."

"Oh really?" Joey laughed.

"Yeah, my friend recommended me to start reading a book, I unwillingly did but I seemed to like it. It takes your mind on a trip and forget the real world for a sec."

"I sure do need a trip." Joey chuckled.

"Well, give it a try."

"I think I will-" he smiled.
"Joey??"

"Oh I have to go, they need me." Joey placed the magazine back and quickly made his way to where they called him.

A few days has passed...

"What?"

"Yes Joey, it was him and you didn't even know it." Whitney said.

"See? He likes you!" Cat clapped her hands in excitement.

"Just because he talked to me, doesn't mean he likes me in that way." Joey said while he wrote the 'Specials of the Day' on a chalk board.
