May faded into June, and graduation day finally rolled around. Alondras entire family was invited, but Mateo and Lissie stayed home since Lissie still wasn't back on her feet completely.

Mario and Alondra met my family at the school. I had just enough time to take a few pictures before I had to run and get in place with the rest of my classmates.

Chelsea claimed she was coming, but since her wedding was getting closer, I figured she had forgotten or had at least forgotten to tell me she wasn't coming. I can't say I wasn't a bit hurt... but I had Alondra there and that needed to be enough for me.

As I stood next to the stage and waited for my name to be called, I scanned the crowd looking for my group.

I saw my mother first. She was dressed in a black sundress covered in flowers, and was crying. Her smile reassured me she was just proud, but I'm sure she was feeling like her baby wasn't a baby anymore.

Dad was beaming in my direction, and offered me a small wave as I locked eyes with him. Mark was talking to Daniel, and beside him was my Alondra.

Her coral dress matched her lipstick and her fingernails. I had never seen her do such fancy makeup, but when she got out of the car, I lost my breath. She was absolutely stunning. The dress hugged her curves and was flowy at the bottom, making me lose all thoughts. Well... except for one.

Mario wore a white button up and black slacks. Pretty much all the men did, except Mark. He always wore shorts in the warmer months, but Mom had nagged him into at least wearing khaki shorts, so he looked pulled together.

My name was called and the crowd clapped politely, all but Mark and Daniel. They hit their feet and screamed my name and cheered. The others laughed, but the security guards all gave them dirty looks, so they sat down.

I waved to my family as I descended the stairs and took my seat again. The rest of the graduation went by quickly, and I soon found myself infront of cameras and phones, taking a million pictures.

Mom asked for one more photo of me and Alondra. I pulled her into my arms and leaned in for a kiss.

"Chris!" Someone yelled. I jumped and looked up to see Chelsea running towards us. Alondra took a deep breath. Here we go.

"Hey Chelsea... hope you arent this late to the wedding." Danile joked. She smacked his arm and said "I'm so sorry! I had a million things go wrong this morning and totally lost track of time! Will you ever forgive me?" She blinked up at me and pulled her exaggerated sad face that used to work on me every time.

But now... I felt like she just looked a bit silly. I laughed once and said "Yea, Chelse. It's whatever." She smiled and started giving out hugs to my family. When she got to Alondra She gave her a tight smile.

"Alondra, nice to see you again." Alondra smiled, but said nothing. I looked away to hide my smile. Alondra was going to be polite but wasn't going to lie. I found that very funny.

Mark caught my eye and raised a brow. I shrugged and then said "Well now that we are all here how about we go to lunch?" Everyone agreed, and we headed towards our cars.

"So, I was thinking we could go to-" My father was cut off by Chelsea's phone ringing. In an instant she pulled her phone out of her pocket and answered. After a few seconds of silence she gasped.

"You have to be kidding me!" She groaned. She pulled the phone away from her ear and said "I'm so sorry but I need to go. Congrats Chris, I'll see you later!" She gave me a quick hug, and rushed towards her car, yelling into the phone.

Alondra took my hand and murmured "What a great best friend." I sighed and replied "She used to be." Dad clapped his hands together and said "Now, are the rest of us ready for lunch?"

We continued on our way to our cars. Alondra decided to ride with me which calmed my nerves significantly. I knew she didn't like Chelsea, and after today I wasn't her biggest fan either.

I held her hand the entire drive, but we rode in silence.
