I called and said, "It's not me, but it's you...
Sometimes it takes some time for hearts to heal—
I am not like your other girlfriend who
Stole your soul and made you break in two,
Although I can see just the way you feel."
I called and said, "It's not me, but it's you...
The one who tried to make your dreams come true.
You see me now as just some useless thrill—
I am not like your other girlfriend who
Did everything you wanted her to do.
I changed your life and made this space too real."
I called and said, "It's not me, but it's you...
I know there is no more that I can do.
And yet, with you, it's sometimes hard to tell—
I am not like your other girlfriend who
Apologized, but now I'll leave you, too."
My pride is swallowed like the sweetest pill.
I called and said, "It's not me, but it's you—
I am not like your other girlfriend who..."
