I was back in the room with restraints on my arms and legs. I tried to stay calm, but I don't really remember what happened. All I could recall was seeing white, and then yellow, and then mom... MOM!

I sat up immediately, then realized that there were no restraints on my arms anymore, just the touch of memory. I was still in the same room, but I could move freely. Maybe this was a trick. I slowly lifted myself off the podium I was lying on. The door was left open... I was hesitant to walk through, even though nothing was stopping me. I put my right arm through first. It wasn't a trap, my heart fluttered. I could escape this prison.

I ejected my entire body of the room and closed my eyes. "What are you doing?" Oh no. I slightly opened my eyes to find a woman, about my height but a little taller, a sassy pose and voice, and strawberry blonde hair pulled into a loose ponytail.

"Nothing... hehe. Just..." I searched the room something that I could use to cover me, "Tired, yeah! I was just tired." I sounded way too excited by that statement, so I awkwardly smiled to cover it up.

"Yea whatever. Doctor needs you, come with me. "Doctor? "Why am I here? Where's my mom?" I had so many questions, but those were my top two.

I looked around at my surroundings. This place looks like a mix of some sort of secret lab and a comfortable home, and it didn't mix well. The lady brought me into a dining room with a science lab feel to it. No chairs rested by the table but instead a man with his body hunched over the table and his head looking down at some papers. He had a concerned expression.

Once he realized we had entered, his concerned expression changed into a more welcoming one. "Ah, Irene." "It's Eileen," I corrected him. "Why am I here?"
I couldn't help but notice how young he looked to be a doctor, if he even is the doctor. He couldn't be over 30.

"You're here because you're going to help us. Do you remember what happened. I tried to recall everything. Aunt Gwen passing, Elli left in the pool, getting struck by lightning, seeing Austin's face... I wonder if he knows I'm alive. I have to talk to him.

As the realization of what happened settled in, -I survived being struck by lightning and was kidnapped to be used for some science project- my breathing started speeding up and my vision became foggy. Before I knew it, I was falling sideways towards the ground.
