Girl power

Chapter 1

Hermione was heading towards the Black Lake to meet with her best friends. Most people believe Harry and Ron are her best friends. She doesn't correct them even if they are wrong. The truth is that she hates them. Harry is stuck up, he acts all humble in public to gain support when he is no better than Voldemort. Ron is a true git and a bully, he has been trying to break down Hermione's confidence since their first year. She didn't have any true friends in her first year except for Neville, Fred, George, and surprisingly Draco. Hermione and Draco become instant friends when they met on the train but, agreed to keep it a secret if sorted into different houses.

Hermione got pulled from her thoughts when her best friends, Ginny and Luna, came running up to her asking all sorts of questions. Some of you may be asking 'Why Luna?'.  It's simple really, Luna makes people weirded out so she doesn't have to hide any secrets.  "Why did you take so long? Where were you? Did you get lost in thought again on your way down?" Ginny asked all at once.

"Calm down Gin. I had to talk to Professor McGonagall about something." Hermione replied, "Let's just sit and talk before the terrible two figure out that I'm not in the library like I told them." Using their nickname for Ron and Harry.

The three sat and talked for hours before Neville ran up to them and started talking really fast. "HarryandRonareheadingtowardsthelibrarynowlookingforyou.FredandGeorgearedelayingthemrightnowandDracoisonstandbyincase," Neville said in one breath.

"Neville calm down and say that again," Luna told there panicked friend.

"Sorry, what I was trying to say is: Harry and Ron are heading towards the library now looking for you. Fred and George are delaying them right now and Draco is on stand by in case." Neville said still slightly panicking.

"Oh, shoot!!! See you, girls, later." Hermione says as she runs off to the library. She just barely getting there on time.

"Hey, Hermione, why do you always hide in the library instead of hanging with us?" Ron asks as soon as he is sitting across from her at her 'favorite table' in the library.

"Isn't it obvious Ron? She wants to be ahead so she can show off to the Professors." Harry answered rather snottily.

"Half true, Harry. Have you ever heard of the saying 'knowledge is power'?" Hermione replied calmly having 4 years of practice not biting their heads off. "All who do well in school, do well in life." 

"That's why we have you, Hermione," Harry stated with Ron nodding along behind him.

"There's no convincing you two is there?" Hermione sighed not wanting to argue over this exact subject again. "I'm going to go do my homework in the common room now that it should be empty since it is dinnertime and I'm not hungry." The truth was she was going to meet up with her boyfriend, Fred, and their friends. She had been dating him since her 2nd year. A year later George and Luna got together. Shortly after Draco and Ginny did the same. They met up once a month to catch up and just spend time together. Their relationships were unknown to anyone outside their friend group. The meets were always planned a week in advance that way they could clear their schedule that day.
