Most of the Gryffindors had to go to Number 12, Grimland Place for the last month of summer. Hermione and Neville had their glamours put back on. When they arrived Sirius told them to listen in to the meetings whenever they could. That sent the twins into an inventing spree. A lot of their inventions were already finished they were just working on the more dangerous products. Hermione and Ginny had to pretend to like Harry and Ron, no matter how much they didn't. When it was time to head back to Hogwarts Neville and Luna join their 2 friends and the 2 idiots already sitting in the compartment.

"How was your summer, Neville?" Ron asked.

"It was kinda interesting. I got some new plants from my gran," Neville says showing a plant Hermione got him in the summer.

"That's cool. What about you, Luna?" Harry asked.

"It was quite interesting. I found some Wrakspurts in my closet," Luna answered.

"Okay," Ron said looking uncomfortable.

The group drifted into silence. It was about an hour before anyone spoke again.

"Who do you think will be our new DADA teacher?" Harry asked.

"I don't know, but I hope they know what they're doing," Hermione lied easily.

"I know. I miss Lupin, he was a good teacher," Neville said the others all agreeing.

The door to the compartment opened showing Draco in the doorway. Ron and Harry got up pointing their wands at him.

"Calm down, I am just here to tell Ginny that her brothers want to see her and get Hermione and Neville for prefect duties," Draco said.

"We're coming, thanks Draco," Hermione said getting up.

"Hey, Luna, I think Hannah mentioned seeing a Nargle go into the twins' compartment," Draco said before walking away with the Riddle twins following him.

"You coming, Luna," Ginny asked from the door.

"Yes, I hope the nargle isn't bothering them, "Luna said getting up to follow her.

"Was Malfoy just nice?" Ron asked looking at Harry.

"It looked like it," Harry responded going quiet.

"That was epic," Fred laughed as he hugged Hermione.

"I know, that was the nicest I've been to them in front of the terrible 2," Draco said with his arm around Ginny.

"Nice use of what they already know to get us away," Neville said holding Hannah close.

"Now, how do we make them believe nothing has changed other than Mum and Dad's relationship?" George asked with Luna in his lap.

"Hannah just has to act like she has the past 4 years. Draco just has to avoid us and come up with an excuse to talk to us. The rest of us have the hard part, being nice to them," Hermione said leaning into Fred.

"That is a solid plan, Mione. Good job," Draco and Hannah say at the same time before laughing.

"What about Umbridge?" Ginny asks.

"I can trick Harry and Ron into making a group that he will teach how to fight. It will just have to be a few weeks after her first lesson," Hermione said.

"Okay, just let us know when it is starting," Hannah said.

"Don't worry, I will," Hermione says.

"If it comes to it, Fred and I will use pranks to get rid of her," George said his twin agreeing.

The rest of the ride they talked about random topics before separating to change and go back to their 'friends'.

At the feast, Umbridge interrupted Dumbledore's opening speech making many students dislike her immediately. Afterward, on their way to their common rooms, Draco bumped into Neville making a snide comment and walking off. Neville and the others knew he had just passed them a note and they would read it when they were alone.

"I really thought he changed," Ginny said. "He was so nice to us on the train."

"I know," Hermione said.

"The Malfoy on the train was kinda scary, to be honest," Harry said before walking off with Ron.

"Ugh, I wish we didn't have to be friends with them," Hermione complained.

"We should be able to get rid of them next year," Fred said knowing it will bring their spirits up.

"I hope so, now let's get to the common room," Neville said walking off.

When they got in the common room they sat around the fire in a way no one would get suspicious. Neville and Hermione talked about how Snape would treat them this year while Ginny and the twins talked about their inventions.

"When are your fireworks going to be ready?" Ginny whispered.

"Hopefully by Christmas," Fred answered.

"Although, the portable swamp will be ready by Halloween," George added.

When the common room was empty they moved closer together and opened the note.

'Dear my lions,

I know we just parted ways, but my father just informed me that I have to play along with Umbridge. I will not be able to join your group. I ask that you teach me over Christmas. Father forgot to tell you we can perform magic in our manors without being detected. I can't wait to see you guys this weekend.

Your snake'

"Guess we probably aren't going to get any snakes in the group," Fred said.

"I guess not," Ginny sighed.

"Don't worry we will figure something out," Neville said.

"How about we teach the snakes that want to learn on the weekends that we are free?" Hermione suggests.

"We'll ask Draco what he thinks this weekend," George assures.

"Well goodnight," Neville said getting up. Everyone following his lead and going to bed.

"I hope this works," Ginny says.

"It will, Gin, don't worry," Hermione said laying down on her bed in their shared dorm.
