Roger POV'Guys, I just though of the best idea ever!'
'It's not like the time you wanted us to perform with afro wigs on, right? I still haven't recovered from that.'
'No, John, this is even better! Remember that song, I Want To Break Free?'
'The song I wrote, I think I might remember that. What is it?'
'Do you also know that series, Coronation Street?'
'Of course, darling, I love that show!'
'My idea was that for the music video of I Want To Break Free we could all dress up in drag, representing the four ladies from Coronation Street.'
Freddie clapped his hands in excitement, and John also seemed somewhat pleased with the idea, but Brian frowned.
'How are we supposed to do that? I mean, we're men. We look nothing like women, save for you. You might make a nice woman. But the rest of us will look like crap. People will hate it!'
'But that's exactly the point! Not the hating us thing, but the rest. We look nothing like women, yet we dress up as them. It's a joke, I'm sure most people will understand.'
'Fine. Only because I trust you.'
'Ik knew you would like it. I love you!'
'We'll see about that when we have our costumes on. We'll look absolutely ridiculous.'
At least Brian was smiling now, that was positive. I had already picked our outfits and characters, but I wanted to keep them waiting for a while longer. Otherwise I might be against it, I am sure of that. I will show them on the first day of shooting, that way it will be a nice surprise. They are so going to freak out, I can hardly wait!
* First day of shooting I Want To Break Free *
Brian's POVI can't say I'm not nervous for today. Roger has told us nothing so far except for the fact that we're going to dress up as characters from Coronation Street. Even though I love him dearly, I wished he had told me what was going to happen, or at least as who I would dress up. As I walk into the building, many people are already working their asses off for the video. There's people for lighting, sound, a large camera crew, an even bigger make-up team. This is really going to be something else, I just hope I don't have to wear something ridiculous.
I was sent to a dressing room, where my costume- and make-up team was waiting for me. A weird pink piece of clothing was on a hanger, but I couldn't really see what it was supposed to be. All I knew was that the colour was hideous.
They started with my hair. Even though I have naturally curly hair, they insisted on putting curlers in it. It took a very long time to finish it, and the pain made it seem even longer. I honestly can't understand why women would want to do this every day.
After the hair it was time for make-up. They put some weird stuff on my eyes and my lips, and more weird stuff on my eyelashes.
Then, finally, I put on the pink dress. It was like a nightgown made of a terrible shade of pink. When I looked in the mirror, I was not looking at myself. I saw a middle-aged woman with curlers in brown hair wearing a pink nightgown. It was absolutely horrifying.
A woman told me to go to the set, for we would begin the filming in ten minutes. I got there, but I was barely able to walk with the long dress. John and Freddie were laughing and joking around on the couch in the middle of the 'living room'. Roger was nowhere the be found.'Brian, darling, you look fabulous.'
'I look like the aunt you don't want to kiss at Christmas.'
'Well at least a fabulous aunt! Brian, please tell Freddie he looks good in drag. He's been bugging me about it all day, saying he looks hotter than Roger.'
'I haven't seen Roger yet, is he around? I would like to see what he is wearing. So far we have the crazy aunt, the angry grandma and the stay-at-home-mom.'
Someone coughed behind me, in a very feminine way. I turned to see Roger standing in the doorway. He was wearing a black skirt that was basically underwear, that's how short it was. As a top he wore a white blouse and a pink and yellow tie. His shoes were black ballerina's, and one of his knee high socks was pulled down to his ankle. His wig was blonde, with two bows on either sides of his head. The make up made his eyes look even bigger and his cheeks redder. He held his hands behind his back, probably to make his fake breasts pop.
My jaw dropped when I saw him. He walked towards me, swaying his hips seductively. As Freddie pouted in the background, Roger pulled me in for a long and deep kiss that probably made everyone else uncomfortable. When he separated his lips from mine he smiled.'Brian, you look even better than I thought you would in that shade of pink. I brought you something to finish off the look, here you go.'
He handed me a pair of pink fluffy bunny slippers. I just stared at them.
'Aren't they adorable? Come on, put them on! The camera crew has been begging us to get ready since forever, we can't keep them waiting.'
'They are quite adorable, yes.'
I put the slippers on, and they fitted perfectly. I wiggled my toes for a bit, and the bunny noses went up and down. John couldn't contain his laughter.
'Now you look like that woman with five divorces and two cats for every divorce! Bri, you really rock the drag thing!'
'Oh shut it Deacs, you look like you're about to murder us all. Keep it down, granny.'
He mumbled something under his breath, but I didn't react to it, for the director asked me to get ready for my part, the beginning of the video. With John dying of laughing, Freddie pouting about not looking the best in drag out of the four of us and Roger being a slutty tease, this was going to be a very, very long day.
