7. A Clash of Feathers

Mina's pov;

Since Lindo went off to take care of business, he's not coming to school today.  And with Ritsuka up-incoming birthday, I'm glad that we're able to celebrate together.

But I wondered. What in the world happened to Lindo when Mage aggravated him? His soul was practically split into two. One light while the other was in darkness, a heart that was full of anger and depression then.

While in the courtyard, Azuna discovered she forget her notebook and went back inside to get it. That's when Ritsuka and I heard thrashing sounds by the rose gardens. And its where we saw him.

Shiki Natsumezaka, another fellow devil and student council member.

Trying to stop him in destroying the flowers, Ritsuka got her hand pricked by a thorn. I became worried knowing that Ritsuka met another devil that will take advantage of her. However, there's something about this demon that's different.

As Shiki was saying how he knows information about her mother, I quickly contacted Azuna on what's going on.

Azuna; "Hey Ritsuka, Mina. Who's this?"

Shiki; "Your friends can come to." He said to Ristuka with a creepy smile.

Third pov;

Arriving at an art museum that none of the girls hadn't known about it being so close to their school, they were separated once they entered as the entire building was like a vast maze. 

Azuna; "Don't you dare touch her ever again! By the sacred Name, obey me. For he who lurks within the darkness, prostrate thyself before me. And begone forever!"

Ritsuka; "Azuna?"

Azuna; "We have to run!"

Ritsuka; "But what about Mina?!"

Azuna; "She'll be fine. We have to get out of here."

But before the girls could make a could getaway, the sacred barrier around Shiki was broken. And two sets of black angel wings came out his back as the girls were in shock of this transformation.

Shiki; "Sorry to disappoint, but I'm an angel. So anything that you exorcist through can't hurt me!"

Ritsuka; "Exorcist?"

Mina; "Wanna bet?!" As Mina said using her powers to push Shiki into the wall. As all three were in a state of shock towards the girl with long silver hair, pure white angel wings that spread from her back, and in a white dress.

Azuna & Ritsuka; "Mina!?"

Mina; "Anyone who dares to hurt and lie to my friends will answer to me! By the Sacred Name, obey me!" She said pointing a cross necklace, similar to Azunas' at Shiki as a bright light shined throughout the building, blinding anyone and everything. Once the light finally diminished, Shiki was gone with the girls back at the academy courtyard with Mina transformed back into her human self.

Mina; Are you girls alright?! You're not hurt are you, Ristuka? Azuna?"

Ritsuka; "Did the both of you only wanted to be friends because of the grimoire?"

Azuna; "No!"

Mina; "Of course not, you big dummy! And besides, the reason why I didn't tell you guys this is because I was afraid."

Azuna; "Why would we be afraid of you being an angel?"

Mina; "It's not the angel I'm worried that you're afraid about. It's my devil side since my mom was born as a Nephilim (half human half angel), she fell in love with my dad who's a devil. But he's a good demon, and there hasn't been that many with my dad growing up till now. It's why I've been so scared in telling you about myself. And the only one who knows about this is Lindo, and that was a complete accident that he found out when we were little."   

Ritsuka; "It's okay. We're here for you."

Azuna; "She's right you know. There's no way we'll think differently of you. And that's a promise."

Mina; "Thanks, girls."

For unknown to the girls, Rem was secretly watching everything within the shadows.

Mina's pov;

After everything was settled, the girls and I talked on the phone, cause they wanted to know more about my angel and devil sides.

Azuna; "So, you're saying that your mom is a Nephilim because your grandma was the angel and grandpa the human. Not to mention that he was your grandmother's guardian angel. Is that right?"

"Correct."

Ritsuka; "But since it was forbidden, your grandma was no longer an angel, losing her wings as a punishment, but still obtained a small dosage of her powers. Then your mother was born, but she became a guardian angel for my mom and aunt before we were all born. And yet, by falling in love with a devil, another sacred act your mother lost her rights as a guardian. And managed what little abilities she once had, but still more than your grandmother. After that, you were born with being half-angel, half-devil, and half-human. So Riko was born a devil and Nene an angel."

"Yup, it's all true."

Azuna; "Then, how did Lindo and Ritsuka's grandfather known about this? And what about your rosary?"

"Lindo knew about both my angel and demon side because he saw me training with my parents, and Ritsuka's grandfather was able to sense the magic within me, thus making me her protector. And as for my rosary, it's also a power limiter since my emotions if left unchecked can cause a great catastrophe."

Ritsuka; "All from just how you feel?"

"Emotions are a very powerful thing Ritsuka. Used correctly it will be your greatest strength. Unbalanced can cause harm to yourself and others."

After that, we all said goodnight to each other, hang up our phones. And went to bed that night.
