While Seraph is out grabbing us food, I think about the events that unfolded between us since that night. There were a few close calls earlier. Something's changed. But what?

Finally, he comes back to the room and we sit, cross-legged on top of the bed, facing each other. I decided to take the yogurt because I'm used to having small breakfasts, unlike Seraph who practically inhales his eggs and toast. In less than a minute, Seraph has finished his entire meal of eggs, toast, and butter. Yes, he even ate the extra butter separately. And I have only eaten about one-third of my yogurt.

I look up and see him staring at my yogurt. "How hungry are you?!" I ask him, exasperated. I sigh. "Fine. I'm not that hungry anyway." I push the yogurt towards him and he attacks the bowl like a starved animal. Can't say I'm surprised though.

He finishes the bowl of yogurt in half the time it took to eat his own breakfast. We leave the empty dishes on the counter and make our way down to the front desk. There we sign out of the hotel and head outside to the car.

And I see something move under the car. Crouching down, I see a boy curled on the ground. He stares at me with the strangest eyes. Kneeling on the ground, I slowly reach out a hand saying, "Can you come out?"

When he doesn't move, I tell him, "We're not going to hurt you. You don't have to be afraid."

It takes a bit more coaxing, but he finally crawls out from under the car. He looks like he is about ten years old, shivering with just the clothes on his back. He eyes betray the fact that he is hungry, and his clothes are so dirty, it looks as though that is the only set of clothes he has worn for weeks.

"What's your name?" I ask him gently. Staring at the floor, he answers so quietly that I don't hear him the first time. I have to get him to repeat it.

"Oliver," he says again, louder this time. I smile. "That's a nice name," I tell him. "It suits you."

Looking into his haunting, yet beautiful, heterochromia eyes of purple and blue, I watch the fear slowly fade, and the confidence takes over. Seraph and I decided to bring him with us. We all pile into the car and turn up the radio, singing along to Ariana Grande.
