Robin slowly awoke, is eyes still closed, the first thing he noticed was that smell. Whatever was causing it definitely should be binned, it smelt like off meat or something along those lines. The boy wonder slowly opened one eye, the light was dim but it still caught him off guard. He opened his other eye slowly, soon becoming used to the light, as soon as he could see properly he saw two lifeless, wide, hazel eyes staring back at him.
Robin let out a bareley hearable yelp as he shot up, another yelp escaping as pain shot around him. "Your up." Edward said as the boy struggled to stand, "Are you okay?" He asked in a worried tone.
"I-I'm fine" Robin lied, he was definitely not fine, he knew he had a broken rib, what else would be causing that pain? And that stab wound in his shoulder... He looked up, grateful that Edward had bandaged it up with a peice of the boys cape.
"Okay, well, we're stuck in this room that Crane keeps the bodies in, the door seems to be impossible to open, we may not be able to leave..."
"We will... a-are there a-any ve-ents?" Robin asked.
"No"
"Oh... I h-have a plan b-but it's a a bit risky..."
"Risky?" Edward asked.
"Y-yeah, I still have my utility belt, I was thinking, may-ybe we c-could blow the d-door off?"
"Hmm... how would we survive an explosion like that?" Edward asked.
"Pile up the bodies, make a wall and hide behind it."
"Ah, okay Richard, that's actually a good idea"
Robin grinned "Thanks"
"Hmm." he hummed.
"R-right, can yo-ou start on the b-body wall, I-I begin-n to wire up the bomb"
"What about those quick little ones you have, can't you use those instead?"
"No, they're n-not strong enough." The boy replied, Edward nodded in understanding.
Robin got to work as Riddler began on the wall. "O-okay... nea-arly d-done..."
"Im done over here." Riddler replied.
"Okay, right, y-you get behind there, I-I'm going to set i-it off."
"Wait, you need to be here or the explosion will get you"
"No, I need to set off the bomb, it needs to be manually turned on, I'll have exactly 5 seconds to get out, that's enough time" he lied, with a broken rib and wounded shoulder, he knew the chance of getting out in time was low.
"No, it could go wrong, I'll do it, you should get behind here."
"Edd, I need to do it, it's voice and finger print activated, I need to do it. Besides, worst case scenario, I'm knocked out and you have to drag me outta here" Robin laughed.
"Hmm. Okay, but if your unconscious you need to understand the fact that I will leave you here." Edward smirked.
"Really? Even after I manage to save your butt and create you a escape? How whelming."
"Okay, well you need to run and jump over here as soon as you set it up."
"Got it" Robin smiled waiting for Edd to get down, he then said the password and scanned his finger, "it's ready, get down!" Robin yelled running to the body wall near the back of the largish room.
5 He ran as fast as he could, ignoring the pain in his chest and shoulder. He had to get to Edward.
4 He kept running, he couldn't stop, his heart was racing, his feet pounding the floor.
3 Three more seconds, he could do this, he sped up his pace.
2 It's too far away, reality came crashing around him like a huge wave, engulfing him in fear, there wasn't enough time, it didn't matter that he was only a meter away, he wouldn't make it.
1 He yelled as he lept up in attempt to get over the body's in time, but it was all too late.
BOOM
The explosion went off, bits of metal door flying everywhere. Some of the bodies on the top of the 'wall' came off, flying to the back of the room where the boy wonder was currently involuntary flying into.
He held back I quiet scream as his back hit the metal wall, bits of metal and body parts followed. Robin dropped down to the ground, a wimper coming from him as he was hit by a body, a large one aswell.
As soon as Edward realised the boy wasn't behind the wall he feared the worst. Worriedly looking about, desperate to find the bird.
"Robin? Where are you?"
"H-he-ere..." A quiet voice said, Edward immediately ran over to him and began to try to pull a large body off him. "Hang on Robin, you'll be out in a second"
"E-Edd... t-the c-cei-iling..." The boy muttered, that's when Edward noticed a large crack forming, Edward wasted no time as he pushed the body of Robin and helped him up, trying to ignore his quiet whimpers. "Look, Dick, I know that this probably hurts but I need to get you out of here"
"I-I kno-ow, I'm s-sorry."
"Hmm" Edward hummed as he carried the bird out the room and away from the house just before it began to colapse.
