guys im having major peter parker feels rn so im writing a bunch again. also at 2 or 3 in the morning because apparently that's when I get the most motivation to write.
this was inspired by the song stay stay stay by taylor swift. it's a really cute song and I suggest listening to it.
.....
"Peter, you can't just take my food whenever you want!"
"Babe, you put your sandwich in my fridge. What'd you expect?"
"I'd expect you not to eat it!"
Tonight was certainly a weird one. It's not often that you and Peter fight, so it was a surprise to both of you when you started to argue like this.
"I specifically put a sticky note on it that said '(Y/N)'s food - do not touch unless you want to die,'" you said.
"Honestly, I don't know why you thought putting it in my fridge would be a good idea. Why not just take it back to your place?" Peter asked, leaning against the island counter in the kitchen.
"Because we were going to have a movie night and I wanted to eat it then."
You paced around the room with your fists rolled into balls. Peter watched you, trying to hold in his laughter. He thought you were so adorable when you got angry. He snickered just loud enough for you to hear.
You whipped your head back at him. "You think this is funny?"
Peter shrugged. "A little."
"Well, it's not going to be funny the next time you do something you weren't supposed to," you grumbled, crossing your arms.
Peter stopped and frowned. "What are you talking about?"
"Every time Mr. Stark tells you not to get involved with bad guys but you do it anyway, you almost die. That thing with the Vulture, going to space, it's terrifying and shouldn't just jump headfirst into it."
"But I needed to do it, (Y/N). It's my job. What, are you saying that I should just stop being Spider-Man?"
"No, that's not what I'm saying. I just think you should stop letting your recklessness control the way you act," you said, standing in front of him on the other side of the counter.
Peter's eyebrows furrowed as he straightened. You were glaring at him, something you don't do often and mean it.
"Yeah, well....you need to stop thinking you know better than anyone else!" he said aloud.
"I don't!" you shouted, ready to slam your fists on the counter. "But I know that you shouldn't keep acting without thinking because one day you'll get seriously hurt. Or die. Again."
You and Peter stared at each other intensely, as if you were battling to win the argument in silence. You didn't know how you got to this point but it felt like it was too late to turn back. Suddenly, your movie night wasn't sounding very enjoyable anymore.
"Are we still talking about your sandwich?" Peter asked quietly, eyes still glued to you.
You sighed and looked down at the counter. "I think I should just leave."
"But what about our movie night?"
You had already started packing your things, not really caring for popcorn and a movie. Peter followed you to the front door where you were putting on your shoes.
