I need a peter parker in my life. I actually work at a bubble tea shop and I've always imagined my future husband walking in one day so thus, this imagine. I changed it so it's a coffee shop just cause i'm sure that's more relatable.
The sound of the blender whirring broke away your thoughts as you retained focus on the cups you were restocking. You had been daydreaming again during your shift. It usually happened when the hours were slow and no one was coming into the shop.
Looking around, you saw your coworker making herself a drink. You hoped she didn't notice you dozing off from reality.
You couldn't help it. You've been waiting your whole life for your future husband to come into your life. Working at a coffee shop only sparked new daydreams where you imagined him walking into the shop.
He'd have blonde—no, brown hair. Brown wavy hair and a pair of shining brown eyes to match. He'd have an awkward but adorable grin and his smile would light up the whole room. He'd speak softly but energetically and his laugh would sound like heaven. He'd come into the shop and you'd melt into his eyes as soon as they locked with yours. You'd have a lovesick grin the whole time and he'd never take his eyes off of you. The world would be colored in pink and bright yellows.
Then when you'd give him his drink, he'd say thanks, introduce himself, and then he'd keep coming back just to see you again.
Oh, how you waited and wished for that to happen.
The idea that you could meet your future husband that way. It seemed so magical yet unrealistic, according to your friends. But you didn't care and still dreamed of meeting him that way.
As the music from the radio changed to a soft ukulele sounding love song, you sighed, entranced by its tune. There was something so hopeful about the song that made you smile, ignoring whatever look your coworker would give you if she caught you.
Then the bell door ringed and you made your way to the register only to catch two shining brown eyes looking right at you.
You froze.
He was exactly how you imagined, but better. He had beautiful brown hair and a smile that could melt you where you stood.
All at once, you knew this was him. This is the boy you've been waiting for.
"H-hi," You stuttered.
"Hi," he said, as if he was holding in a breath before. He glanced up at the menu above, then back to you. "I'll have a tall vanilla latte, please."
"Sure thing." You smiled as you put in the order, feeling his gaze on you. He payed for his drink with a few crumpled up ones and some slightly rusted coins. You looked back up at him and you could feel your smile extend to your ears. "Here's your receipt and your drink will be out shortly."
"Thanks," he said, voice still breathy. He stuffed the receipt in his pocket and took a seat.
You took a cup and began to make his drink, the images of your interaction replaying in your head. It wasn't anything too special but you still thought about it, melting over how beautiful his eyes and his smile were.
You could feel his gaze on you the whole time, never once leaving. All the while you thought to yourself, 'could this be it? is this the dream I've been wishing for?'
After making his drink, you called it out and watched him make his way to the counter. Your eyes locked again and he grinned, making your heart flutter again. Oh, what a beautiful feeling this felt. He took his cup and thanked you, grabbing a napkin as well.
"Uh, I'm Peter. Parker. By the way," he said, hoping to extend the moment.
"I'm (Y/N)." Your heart seemed to stop, realizing how close to fantasy your reality had become. It felt exactly how you imagined and replayed and daydreamed forever. "Nice to meet you."
"You-you, too."
Peter didn't want to leave in that moment. Neither did you. There was something so magical about it, and the soft love song that played in the background only made it better. You were lucky the shop wasn't busy or else you'd have to leave him to make drinks.
"I um, I gotta go. But maybe I'll see you around again?" he asked.
You smiled. "Yeah, definitely. I'll be...here."
"Cool," he said.
"Cool."
You both held onto each other's eyes for one second more, before he finally forced himself to leave.
"Yeah, okay. I'll see you. Bye," he said, taking off with his drink.
"Bye, have a nice night!" you gave him a little wave.
He turned around for a second and said, "You, too!"
And out the door he went.
You sighed in content. That was it. That was him.
You'd never felt so light in your chest. All of a sudden, the world was indeed pink and yellow. All those long shifts of daydreaming had finally come to life. It wasn't that long of an interaction. You barely knew him. But you knew. That was him.
Turning to wipe the counter down, you hoped he would come back one day.
And he did.
He kept coming back and you felt so in love because he was coming back for you. After a few visits you finally exchanged numbers and found things you had in common, like movies and tastes in music. He was awkward and spoke softly, but so funny and energetic. Exactly how you imagined.
All thanks to his love for coffee and your job at a coffee shop.
