I stared at the man sitting across from me, letting out a sigh. Steven Grant Rogers, also known as Captain America. My best friend.

And the one man I've had a crush on since he rescued me from Schmidt and Zola back in the 1940s. A thought of me and Steve cuddling on the couch, watching TV crept into my mind and I shook my head, blushing slightly.

"Buck, you okay?" I looked up, meeting Steve's concerned blue eyes.

"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. Just got distracted, sorry."

"You sure? You're looking a little pale, Bucky. Maybe you should take it easy today. Get some rest."

"I'm fine, Stevie. My throat is sore, that's all." He frowned, opening his mouth to say something.

"Steve- I'm fine. Seriously. Relax." I said, reaching over and patting his hand. I got up, smiling at the blond.

"I'll be back in a moment, and then we can head out, okay?" He nodded as I put my plate in the sink, leaving my silverware on top of it. I headed down the hall, going into the bathroom. I shut the door, leaning heavily on it. Taking a deep breath, I slid to the floor, covering my face with my hands.

"God, this is so awkward," I mumbled, wincing at the pain in my throat. I coughed into my hand, pulling it away when I stopped.

"What the..." I stared at the flower petal in my hand, gently poking it with the other one.

"Why did I just cough up a flower petal?"

"Bucky, you ready to go meet Sam? He's probably waiting." I jumped, crushing the purplish pink petal.

"Yeah, I'm coming!" I called, tossing the petal into the toilet and flushing it. I quickly washed my hands, exiting the bathroom.

"Let's go," I said to Steve, following him to where he usually went on his run. Sam was already there, making laps around the water. I nodded to Steve and we started running, quickly catching up with Sam.

"On your left!"

I let out a groan, my shirt creeping up my back as I leaned against a tree and slid down until I was sitting on the ground.

"Buck? You good?" I nodded, looking up at Steve.

"Yeah, just having a little trouble breathin'. Might be comin' down with somethin'." Steve raised an eyebrow as Sam jogged over.

"You guys okay?" I nodded. The blond huffed out a sigh, crossing his arms.

"If it gets worse, you're going to the doctors." I opened my mouth to protest; Steve lifted his hand, shutting me up without saying anything.

"Do not fight me on this, Buck. If I deem it necessary, I will drag you to the doctor's office myself."

"Yes, mom," I responded, sticking my tongue out at Steve. "It's probably just a slight tickle. I don't think we can even get sick." The blond hummed, sitting down next to me.

"True."

"It's probably just something got stuck in his throat. Doubt there's anything to worry about." Sam commented, dropping to the ground beside us.

"You two fuck yet?" Steve sputtered, his face turning a bright red as he searched for words. I stood, grabbing Sam's arm and pulling him to his feet.

"Whoa, hey, what're you doing?"

"Nothing, just follow me." He tried to pull his arm out of my grip, noticing where I was headed.

"Hey, it was just a joke, chill out!"
