This is sometimes what basically crosses my mind every now and then.

My parents will never get me.
They'll never see what I see.
The internet is a beautiful place.
A place to find friends -
Souls that don't judge and offend.
It's somewhere I can be me,
It's somewhere I can be free.

Sometimes when I look at the beaming screen
I don't see fun and games like the ones they've only seen.
Rather I'm in a maze
Trying to find a solution,
To help someone with problems like depression.
I try my best to help them overlook the bad things they think everyone mean.
Because it's nice to know what a good friend you've been.

Most of the time, I only find happiness in the internet.
It's where I escape to because real life makes me fret.
There I can do things I can't and gaze,
Because here I'm bound to reality;
Fantasy don't come true no matter how mighty.
And then I'm brought back, no conditions met.
Grounded again, this is the punishment I get.

I guess I'm an addict.
They want me to stop but they have no real edict.
Edict over me to stop my craze.
If they think I'm a fool, then I'll continue my foolishness.
Because I craze for understanding, and real happiness.
So for now I'll stop, for they can't truly evict.
I hope it stays this way, but no one can ever predict.
