So a little fun fact.
Haiku(s) were largely used back then in Japan for courting.
A suitor would write a haiku to the lady he was courting and if the lady liked it, she would write a Tanka back to him, either to reject or accept his advances.
Anyway our English teacher had me make one for homework so yeah.
