*Chapter Nineteen

Desmond yelling at Logan was a total shock but not as much as the gunfire and the shouting from above. As soon as it happened Desmond threw Finn a gun and yelled at me to get Logan out of there and to my siblings. I didn't hesitate, I grabbed her by the hand and ran down the hallway opening doors until I find my siblings. I practically throw her into the room.

"Ian give me the baby." I say to him. He picks him up while I grab Kenzie and open the closet door.

"Half Pint, you stay in here with Erik and Brayden. Don't make any sounds. I'll come get you when it's safe. Okay?" I say to her. She nods and I have Erik get in then her, after she's settled I hand Erik the baby.

I look at him, "I'll knock three times. If this door opens without the knocks shoot first ask questions later. Do you understand?" I tell him as I hand him a gun. He nods and I shut the door. Down the hall I can hear the gunfire getting louder. I rush Ian and Logan to the other closet.

They get in and I look at Ian, "Take care of her Ian. Don't let anything happen. Same goes to you, if you don't hear three knock and the door opens..."

"Shoot first ask questions later and make sure they don't get to the little ones. I got it, but where are you going to go?" Ian asks.

"To help Finn and Desmond." I say to him. I look at Logan and give her a half hearted smile. Then I close the door and run to the front part of the deck pulling my gun as I go.

When I get there there are five soldiers inside the boat. Desmond is shooting and yelling into a phone telling the captain to get out of here. I hear the engine start and then the boat starts to go slowly. I get down behind a turned over table next to Finn.

"What the fuck are you doing?" he shouts at me.

"I wasn't about to let you have all the fun." I tell him.

He shakes his head and then turns to shoot. Next thing I hear is Desmond yelling, "I've been hit!"

Finn looks at me, "Cover me!" I nod and when he starts to get up I start shooting over the table. I hit two, then three of the soldiers. Finn hits another one and finally gets to Desmond. He gets him up and he nods to me to tell me that they are ready to come back. I nod and start shooting, they start coming back when the unthinkable happens. One of Desmond's own men turns on him and gets ready to shoot. I shoot the last soldier and turn to Finn and Desmond. Finn pushes Desmond towards me and catches the  bullet right in the stomach. Quintus Flavius shoots the guy in the knee and rushes to take his gun. Desmond and I rush over to Finn.

There's so much blood. It's rushing out of Finn like a river rushing down a mountain. I press my hands down to try to stop some of it from coming out. Quintus comes over and then goes to the phone Desmond was at earlier. Desmond is holding Finn's hand and talking to him.

"It's okay kiddo. You'll be okay. You're a fighter, just remember that. You've been through so much already, you'll get through this. I know you will, you're the strongest kid I've met. That's why you're my favorite. You'll be okay." he says to him.

I look at Finn but I can't say anything to him. Two guys come over and one tells me to back away. They are medics. I let go and he automatically applies pressure to the wound. The other one takes Finn's pulse and then they say that they need to get him down to the medical bay. Desmond nods and the medics, Quint, Desmond and I help carry him down there. As soon as we get through the doors there is a doctor and a few nurses ready and waiting. We put Finn on the bed and one of the nurses puts him to sleep with a drug. Quintus pushes Desmond and I out of the room so the doctor can work. I just stand there my hands dripping with my best friend's blood.
