A U R O R A

I went into the living room and sat down on our couch, kicking my feet up to occupy the entire space. I opened up my laptop and launched Microsoft Word to start on the Lit assignment I had when a message notification popped up.

'Hey to answer the question you asked me I love the idea we should do it'

It was from Luke Hemmings. I checked the watch on my screen, it's been almost three hours since I sent him the message. Another notification popped up.

'Oh and sorry for replying so late, my sister stole my phone and we had dinner and stuff so yeah.' It read. I quickly replied back.

'don't worry about it, i didn't even notice.' I clicked enter and just then I remembered what he said earlier today.

What if you can't be proud?

What was that supposed to mean? Who was he talking about?

God, only knows for sure.

My thoughts were interrupted by another notification.

'Would you mind if I called you on FaceTime? Someone wants to meet you.'

My fingers hovered over the keyboard when I recieved another message. 'Sorry that sounded creepy'

'just a bit.' I replied.

'Yeah, I noticed sorry'

'who is it anyways?'

'Princess Bratzilvania'

'no idea who that is, i'll call you.'

"Hey!" I waved as Luke's face appeared on my screen. "Hello." He waved back. His hair was swept across his forehead and he was wearing a hoodie.

"So, what is it?" I asked him as my older brother walked into the living room. He quietly peeked over my shoulder to watch Luke with observant eyes. "Someone kinda sorta thinks you're a real life princess." he said.

Just then, a little girl with brown hair appeared under his chin. They had the same eyes. Luke lowered the camera slightly to show the girl a bit more. Her little hand quickly pushed his wrists up and the camera away from her.

Luke smiled a bit. "My little sister wanted to say hi." He said as he brought the camera back up to her face. She covered her face with her hands and opened a little slit in them to see through. "Hi!" I waved at her.

She moved her hands from her face and waved ever so slightly at me. "I'm Aurora, what's your name?" I asked. "Riley." She replied barely over a whisper.

"Awesome name. I love your accent, sounds just like your brother." I joked. "Ha ha ha, make fun of the Australians." Luke mocked but he didn't mean it with malice. "I wasn't!"

"Okay, hold on." He said as he set his phone on a table and gave me a wider view. He was sat down on a wide gaming chair with Riley crossed legged on his lap. Riley had the cutest princess pajamas on and pink clips in her hair.

Their background was Luke's room. It was a dark blue color. He had minimal band posters hung up around his room. His bed was messy. There was a balcony at the edge of the bedroom. He had a vinyl player propped next to the glass door of the balcony and beside it, he had a massive stack of records.

"Alright, I have a list of questions addressed to Princess Aurora written by Riley." She tugged at his collar and whispered something in his ear. He bit back a laugh.
