Zoe
I stepped into my headquarters down the long corridor towards my office. I fixed one art piece hanging on the wall for it was lop sided and then met with Tasha in the office room.
Tasha had become nearly my sister over the years as we worked side by side creating something amazing. I was beyond thankful for without her, I would never have become who I was. I decided to follow in her footsteps to work towards creating this business.
I had to say we've turned this entire gang around. The men who worked for me eventually respected me after I turned the rules around. I was proud of what I'd accomplished and blessed my parents for passing this down to me.
Zack and Max were with her, the three of them seated at my long meeting table. I hired the two when I found them selling on the streets aimlessly. They were smart but bound to get themselves caught, so I took them in and managed to see they were good kids that followed orders easily. After teaching them how to hide their tracks and walk in the shadows, they soon stood as the head of my drug team.
I wasn't fond of selling drugs but it made us money. It was also uncommon for a gang like mine to not be associated with drugs. The thought of even touching poison like that never came to my mind. I wasn't going to let myself fall into a tangled trap of addiction when I had a business to run. Your number one rule when dealing with drugs was to never use your own products.
I held my place at the end of the table to capture my team's attention.
"Welcome boss," Zack greeted. "We have a few things we need to discuss with you."
"Let's get to it," I announced and as Zack started to speak, I seemed to doze away into my own thoughts.
Hunter has my mind trapped under his spell again as I felt the mixed feelings I was always stuck in when I first met him. I didn't want to allow myself to plunge into his webs again but he was so captivating that it was a difficult task to keep myself away.
"Zoe?" Tasha cleared my head and I shook my thoughts. "You seem out of it."
"Sorry I'm fine. Can you just start over."
Zack exchanged a look with Tasha but nodded anyways while Max was smiling like an idiot.
"Zeus is being a sneaky prick again," Zack started. "He seems to be exchanging files with Crow and possibly doing anything he can to get someone on his side."
'Crow' was a local motorcycle gang located down the street from my headquarters at a mechanic shop. They owned it to cover up the dirty mess they actually made. I wasn't an enemy of them and actually got along with most of the older men. Some of them were too old to ride their bikes anymore so they'd sometimes come to my clubhouse and hangout too, and I didn't mind it. It was better to keep the more experienced on your side in this kind of business.
"Zeus is sloppy," I waved off. "He is no concern to me."
"That's what I thought too...," Zack continued. "But Marcus seems to be believing some of the shit he's being fed and I think they're working together."
"Marcus as in Brotherhood?" I wondered out loud.
Brotherhood was a team of gangsters who weren't fond of me considering they thought of me as weak for being a girl. It fired my anger and I've hated them but had to admit that they were a crazy strong group that would kill out an entire gang if they wanted to. So for the fact that Zeus was consulting with them had me on alert.
