Hi all! How are you enjoying the book so far? Whose side are you on, Hunter or Zoe? Let me know in the comments and make sure to vote if you love it (:

Hunter

It was slightly bizarre to me that Zoe was obviously hooking me up with this girl considering the fact she got all upset over me kissing someone the other night. I could see it in her eyes though that she was worrying herself wondering if this would be a good idea. So I played along, giving this girl, Lola, some attention. She was pretty I guess but not exactly my type. She had short dark orange hair which I never really liked. I enjoyed girls with longer hair so it could hug their body, not ones cut at the ears. Too many freckles covered her cheeks and nose and her lips were clearly filled with injections.

She was extremely shy also which wasn't what I enjoyed. When Zoe first showed up in my life she wasn't as shy as I figured she'd be. In time she released herself from the tiny shell she was in and that's what I liked in a woman. Not one that covered herself behind her bangs and seemed way too nervous to talk to me.

But I was going to play Zoe's game and talk to Lola for now, but nothing was going to come out of this.

I watched Zoe wander off and then saw my brother step up to her. He slung an arm around her shoulder, whispered something to make her smile and then the two disappeared together. My blood began to boil within and I felt my lip twitch. So now she was sleeping with him too?

Considering I still had this girl by my side I cleared my head and entertained her with my attention.

"You ever play pool?" I asked Lola and she seemed happy that I was actually talking.

"Uh I've tried but I'm not too good," she smiled awkwardly.

I led her to the empty pool table and handed her a club. I was a gentleman of course so I let her hit first and realized she wasn't lying when she hit the cue ball right into a hole.

"Let me show you," I smirked and released my charm.

I stood behind her after taking the white ball and setting it back into position. I snaked my arms around her and helped her hold the club. I could feel her begin to heat up, probably growing insanely nervous that I was so close to her. Together we hit the ball and it scattered the rest.

We played together enjoying the time and soon I grew a liking to her. She was starting to emerge from behind her short hair and even joked with me occasionally. I began getting caught up with just watching her and soon enough the game was over. I let her win of course.

"Do you happen to be free tomorrow morning?" I asked Lola with a smile as I leaned her up against the pool table and loomed over her.

"Possibly," she winked.

"I wanted to take you out for coffee," I shrugged.

"I think I can fit it into my schedule," she joked again and then handed me her phone so I could add my number. "I'll text you my address. Pick me up at nine."

Lola kissed my cheek gently and then left the club house with a small sway in her hips. I couldn't help but stare as she walked, thinking later on I'd have to thank Zoe. Revenge was sweet.

"Hey," a familiar voice caught me. Tristan was standing there next to me with a slight smile. "I Uh...just wanted to apologize. You know for everything that's happened. I really don't want to ruin our friendship."

"It's cool. I think I'm moving on anyways."

"So am I," he replied.

"With who? The teenager?"
