It's been too long since an update has been posted and I apologize. Without further ado here is chapter 14 (:

A few weeks traveled by since the incident with Zeus and Zoe, and she knew she shouldn't be clutched on the fear of him lying. She did forget about the villain soon enough though so Zoe was ready to get her life back; involve herself more in her work, and make more time for Boy. He was doing magnificent with his work and attendance that his principal noticed his new found effort and congratulated Zoe for the opportunity she gave the kid. He discussed with Boy's new care taker that he now had a higher chance at getting into an acceptable college. Zoe wasn't going to discuss further education with Boy just yet due to the fact that she wanted him to focus on his studies now. She knew he wasn't fond of the idea of college as is, so she'd let him make that decision for himself.
Hunter was home more often now, fighting with Lola much more since she was torn between wanting a relationship and being scared of commitment. She wanted to travel either way, whether or not her music career would set sail. While Hunter wanted to settle down, Lola wanted anything but that which caused arguments and disagreements. He grew sick of fighting for someone who didn't want him, and in his mind, he figured this was karma for all the broken hearts he crushed on the way through his life. Most nights away from her he would cuddle a pillow and stare at the wall for hours until his eyes finally shut from being so heavy. He started focusing more on working for Zoe rather than trying to figure out Lola. When they weren't together, he was beside Zoe, completing jobs she would create for him.
Zoe noticed her friend wasn't himself lately; he was mostly quiet and gloomy. She didn't know how to make him better. Ever since she became leader, her emotions seemed to leave and she wasn't used to comforting people anymore. It was one of her biggest problems she'd face after her new job.
While hanging around the clubhouse, Hunter and Zoe sat together enjoying a beer each. She wanted to begin a conversation with him but she didn't know how to start it. His responses lately have been short and emotionless. She couldn't help but blame herself for his sadness because she was the one to set them up. Now that Lola was being complicated, Hunter's depression was on Zoe's hands.
"Want to play a game of pool?" Zoe smiled.
Hunter looked at the empty pool table and shrugged, then his eyes roamed back to the floor after chugging the rest of his beer.
"Alright Hunter listen," Zoe sighed and turned her whole body towards him. "Don't let this girl take a toll on your emotions. Girls can be complicated but you'll get through it."
"Lola dumped me this morning," Hunter replied lowly, not taking his eyes off the floor.
Zoe's eyes frowned as she felt even worse now. "What?" was all she could say.
"I need another beer," Hunter ignored her and hopped off the couch to head for the crowded bar.
Sighing and leaning back into the cushion, Zoe stared blankly at the ceiling, her drink becoming warm in her grasp. She figured Hunter being single would swoon him back to his old ways, bouncing from girl-to-girl, having loads of one-night stands. She was proven wrong. He was just a grey cloud raining above her, and she didn't know how to help. If she asked him to get back together with her, it could go one of two ways. Hunter could accept the offer or he would get angry and never talk to her again.
Tristan stepped into the clubhouse after picking up Boy from school and taking him out for lunch. The kid immediately raced towards Zoe with a bright smile.
