Chapter 12

Whilst clearing the table, I get a call from my mum.

Mom: Hey babe. How're you doing?

Me: I'm okay mum.

Mum: Your dad and I will be coming home tomorrow. There's been some changes in his business appointments.

Me: Okay mum. I need to talk to you anyways.

Mum: Hope it's nothing bad?

Me: No mum.

Mum: Alright. See you soon

Me: Bye mum

The following morning, Jake insists that we go to his house for breakfast.
His parents were already having breakfast when we walked in.
His mum left her seat to give me a hug with joy in her eyes and his dad stop up with a happy smile.

Sarah: Jake has told us about our grandchild

I giggled

Nathan: We're here for you. You know you can count on us for anything

Me: Thank you

After breakfast, whilst watching a movie with Jake, Sarah (Jake's mum) joins us.

She clears her throat for our attention.

Sarah: So Nathan (Jake's dad) and I were thinking that you two should go have some fun. We'll pay, don't worry. Dinner and a movie, perhaps.

Jake: Well that's not a bad idea. Laura, you want to?

Yeah! I say excitedly

Here's our debit card. There's no budget. Okay? She says handing the card to Jake

Jake: Thanks mum

Thank you so much Sarah, I say with a huge smile on my face.

Anything for you hunnie, she says giving me a planting a kiss on my forehead.
And with that she left

Me: I have to go Jake, mum and dad will be home soon.

Jake: Alright babe. Will pick you up at 7

Me: Okay love

My mum attacks me with a hug, soon as I walked into the house.

Mum: I've missed you so much

I missed you too mum. I say to her smiling and my dad pulls me into a hug from my mum.

So what did you want to talk about? My mum asked smiling widely.

Mum! Dad! I'm pregnant. I say after breathing in deeply.

Mum: Is it Jake's?

I nod

I hope my granddaughter will be as beautiful as her mum, my dad says hugging me tightly.

I want a grandson, my mum says, almost sounding like a baby.

We all laughed happily
