ok so this is my first Harry Potter fanfic I hope you guys enjoy. All characters belong to J.K. Rowling except all the characters I made up please don't take my writing.

Ok and for James I imagine a young Dylan O'Brien.
For Florence I imagine the girl on the cover except younger and the same for James.

Christmas was around the corner. You could smell it every at hogwarts. From the gingerbread in the kitchens to the crisp smell of pine in the great hall.It was Florence's least favorite part of the year.
"Hey Flora," James Potter called out to her as he carried a bunch of decorations up to the griffindor common room.
"That's still not my name." Florence called out to him not even looking up from her book.
James lips curved into a small smile as he started to run up the stairs. Florence kept walking in the other direction. She was heading to the library to check out another book. She was on the last page of the one she was reading now. Florence finished the page just as she was stepping into the library.
Oof! Florence got nocked straight back onto her butt by what looked like a measly first year girl.
"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry! I was in a rush and wasn't looking. Let me help you up." The girl put her hand out and Florence took it and was pulled up. She was stronger than she looked.
  "My names Lily."
"I'm Florence" she said letting go of Lily's hand and wiping off her robes. She took a look at the girl, she was in fact a first year and was a gryffindor. There was also something about the girl that Florence just couldn't seem to place. She looked vaguely familiar but Florence let it go.
"It's nice to meet you Florence. I hope we could meet up sometime under better circumstances and get to know each other. You  seem really nice and I think we could be good friends.
"Yeah, I think so too. See you around." Florence said walking past her.
She quickly found her book and made her way back to the hufflepuff common room. She couldn't take her mind off the girl, there was just something so familiar about her.
