Florence made her way into her common room and finished her book. There was practically no one left except the usual that decided to stay up all night. She decided her homework could wait till tomorrow and she scanned the room. By the fireplace she saw her best friend in the world, Casey.
As she picked up her books she felt a slight pain in her wrist. Florence looked down to see it was a purple-ish color. She took a guess that it was from the fall and decided it wasn't bad enough to go to the nurse.
"Hey Casey." Florence whispered setting her books down lightly to not wake up anyone who had fallen asleep in the common room.
"Girl, what are you doin?" She asked head resting on her arm eyes trying to stay awake.
"What are you doing? I thought you were the one that went to bed at a reasonable hour and I was the one that didn't sleep." Florence said laughing lightly.
"Homework. That I think I will finish tomorrow because I've fallen asleep twice already. So, goodnight."
"Are you going to take your books?" Florence called out to her.
"No, I'm just gonna hope no one touches them and if they do I'm to tired to care right now." She called back.
Florence contemplated whether or not she should go try to get sleep or try to figure out who this Lily girl is. She knew she wouldn't be able to figure anything out about the girl tonight or be able to sleep so she decided to take a walk around the halls.
She used to do it a lot since it would take her mind off the nightmares she would have every night. Now she just didn't even try to get sleep. Florence walked out the large common room door and made her way up the dungeon stair.
Quietly she made her way up the stairs and took a left, not really caring where she went. Before she knew it she had went up a few floors and could hear a few kids coming down the hall. Panicking, she looked for a place to hide. There were none. The kids were approaching fast and she could make out what looked like two older boys and a young girl all laughing.
She turned and saw the stair she came up and made a run for it. Florence hadn't thought it through completely because when she started running her bare feet made noise against the marble floor. She turned to see the kids look up at her.
"Hey, who's there?" Oh no, Florence knew that voice anywhere. That was the voice of James Potter. How wonderful she thought.
"I think it was a girl. Her robes looked yellow too. She's probably hufflepuff." The girl said. Oh she knew that voice too! That was the girl from the library, Lily. But why was Lily with James Potter?
Then it clicked for her she remembered hearing about the Potters third child, an orange haired girl who they had named after Harry's mother, Lily. The other boy was probably James best friend. They were always together but Florence couldn't remember his name.
Being so lost in her train of thought Florence missed the last step and had put her hand out to stop herself from hitting the floor.
"Oww!" She cried out in pain and the three gryffindors ran up to her. She grabbed her wrist and could tell the bone was broken by the looks of it and the amount of pain it was causing her.
"Florence?" James said.
"Florence?" Lily said.
They both looked at each other for a second.
"How do you know her?" They said in unison.
