"Florence, get up." Casey shook Florence in an effort to get her up.
"Five more minutes. When am I ever going to get this kind of sleep again." And with that Florence felt a soft, fluffy item hit her face. She tried to pop up to throw the pillow back by putting her hands down. She squealed out in pain when pressure was applied to her wrist.
"Girl, you okay?" Casey asked looking very concerned for her best friend.
"Yeah, yeah I'm fine, just bent my hand the wrong way. That's it. Leave it, ok." Florence said, not even caring if she had hurt her feelings.
"Ok. Well, you missed breakfast. I'm going to go down and try to find a banana or something before all the food completely disappears. Just make sure you get up before class starts." She said sadly, being hurt by her friends words. And with that she walked out the door leaving Florence in the room all alone.
Florence sat on the edge of the bed for a minute, feet just dangling back and forth. She didn't understand why she had to always do that. She always messed things up, every single time, no matter what. Every time she got close she pulled away and Casey had been the only one she hadn't done that to yet but now she might have lost her too.
She decided to get ready quickly. Florence slipped on her long robes after putting on her wrist brace. She made sure her sleeve covered it. No one would see it now. Picking up her books, she gave one more glance at the room, Casey's pillow was still on the ground from falling off her bed, her bed wasn't made, it looked like something had spilled by Casey's bed. Florence thought to herself, "Could This day get any worse?". Then she looked down at her wrist, there was purple coming out from the brace. It was worse than broken she had probably torn a muscle or something and that caused a whole new set of problems. If she had torn a muscle or ligament it needed to be fixed immediately or it would never heal completely, it would always cause her pain.
She tried to push the thought to the back of her mind and left the room. As she walked through the common room she saw a few stragglers still sleeping on the couches and chairs. Florence looked at them then shook her lead slightly, she would not wake them. For all she knew they didn't want to be woken so she would let them sleep like she wished she had.
With that she left and entered the main dungeon hallway. A few slytherins made their way past her and bumped into her causing her to drop her books.
"Whoops, sorry 'bout that." One boy shouted back giving a friendly smile to her. In those few seconds Florence took in all his face. His chocolate colored hair, his bright blue eyes, the dimples that appeared on his face when he had smiled at her. For a second Florence thought there had been a spark between them, then reality snapped her back. Florence reaches down, grabbed her books and headed back on her way to her first class.
Transfiguration, it wasn't her favorite but she didn't mind it. It actually came quite easy to her for some reason. She just remembered too that they had it with the gryffindors. Just wonderful, she would have to see James and Bradie. Bradie! That was James best friends name that she couldn't remember. Why, was she getting so happy about that, she told herself to calm down it was just a name who cares.
Florence finally made it to the transfiguration room and walked through the door.
"Flora! Over here." James waved from across the room. When Florence was walking over to James she took a look at Bradie. He looked at her almost with an annoyed, angry look. This is wonderful Florence thought to herself, James really needs to let this go. She took her seat next to him.
"Hey Flora, how's the wrist?" He asked almost looking concerned for Florence. This is going to be a long class she thought but she had the thoughts of the slytherin boy to get her through it. And she had a class with the slytherins after lunch that made her lips curve into a little smile.
