Florence practically skipped all the way to the library filled with joy. It only hit her once she entered the library what her focus needed to be on. She looked around the library searching for her friend. Looking to her right Casey was waving at her from a table in the corner by a window.
"Hey. You won't believe what just happened." Florence whispered to her sitting down in a chair across from Casey.
"Oh what." Casey asked a sarcastic tone in her voice.
"I kissed him. I kissed James by the lake." Florence said and the smile came back to her face.
Casey looked up suddenly from the book she was reading. "No way. You kissed him?"
"Yep. Just grabbed his face and kissed him." Florence answered her.
"Ugh, your crazy. I hope you know that." She had turned back down to her book.
"What are you reading?" Florence asked her getting no response.
Casey didn't even look up but Florence saw the look on her face. "No way." Casey whispered almost to herself.
"What?" Florence said leaning over the table. "You have to talk to me. I can't read your mind."
"Here" Casey answered. "Take this and read it."
Florence took the book and read the page dementors. Dark hooded creatures that bring coldness and sadness wherever they go. They take people's souls with a simple kiss.
"What is this?" Florence asked after finishing the page.
"I could have sworn I saw one at hogsmeade the last time I went. It was hiding in the shadows and behind buildings. What if they have something to do with your moms disappearance?" Casey said.
"Yeah maybe your right but we don't know anything about them." Florence answered her sadly.
"Oh I already thought about that." Casey picked up a book that had been on the table. " patronus. They are creatures that materialize based on the happiest memories of the person who cast them. Each one takes shape of a different animal that has a connection to the person."
"But there's a catch isn't there?" Florence asked able to tell by the look on her friends face.
"They can make you really weak and it can take really long to produce one." Casey said.
"Well then I guess we should start now." Florence got up and started walking. "Come I have the perfect place to learn this."
They walked in silence to the second floor of the castle and went down many halls until it seemed like they were practically lost. Florence stopped suddenly and started walking back and forth.
"Well?" Casey asked confused by her friend. "Wow. What is that?"
A door had appeared after Florence had walked back and forth three times.
"Come on I'll explain once we're inside." Florence pushed the door opened and took a look in both directions before entering the room and tugging her friend in behind her.
"Welcome to the room of requirements Casey." Florence started looking around the room.
It was a simple room a couch in the corner a few rugs on the ground. Florence went and sat down on one of the rugs and her friend followed behind her. Florence had her hand rested on her knees and started again.
"Not many people know about this room. Some people find it on purpose because they need it but the first time people usually find it by accident. To find the room you have to focus on what you need at the moment and you have to walk back and forth three times only focusing on what you need. Then when you walk through the door that is the room you will find. I asked for a room where we could learn how to produce a patronus so that's what it gave us. Anyways let's learn about the spell."
"Ok, so you have to focus on your happiest memories and only them. Then the spell is expecto patronum. Seems simple enough, right?" Casey said getting a little nervous.
"Yeah I can do this." Florence said standing up with her wand in hand. She took a calming breath and thought through her memories searching for the right one. She dove deep into her mind. She let the memory of her family sitting around all laughing and having fun. It was Christmas a few years ago when her dad had been alive. "Expecto patronum!" A silvery blue mist shot out of her wand using all her energy even as she focused deeply on the memory the mist began to fade.
"Woah, that really does take a lot out of you." Florence said almost falling after all the blue mist had disappeared.
"Hey, you good?" Casey asked practically catching Florence as she fell.
"Yeah, yeah I gotta try again. I have to get it. Did you see how close I was Casey!" Florence said to her friend, desperation clearly in her eyes and voice.
  "Florence, please." Casey said.
Florence got up and got ready to try again barely able to stand from the dizziness because of her last try. She took another deep breathe and thought.

Oh my gosh thank you so much for reading. I'm almost at 100 reads and it's amazing.!!
