I stand frozen on my feet as I stare at the empty room.

"Brittany!" I begin to yell.

I turn and begin rushing down the hall. "Brittany!" I about.

"Cody, what's the matter?" Lucian asks, coming back up the stairs.

"Where are they?" I demand.

"Who?" he asks.

"Who the hell do you think? My fiancé and your stupid ass wife!" I yell in his face.

"Watch it." my brother warns.

"No. Answer me. Where are they?" I demand.

"They said something about going for coffee in London." Lucian says after a few long moments.

"Where?" I demand.

"I would assume Starbucks." Lucian growls.

I move down the steps faster than I imagined I ever could. Grabbing my jacket and my keys, I rush out the door and to my car.

I've never driven so fast. But the second I reach Starbucks I'm running in.

"Brittany?!" I exclaim breathlessly.

There she is, sitting across the table from Lucian's whore.

"Britt, thank god." I breath, moving forward.

Kate looks up at me. "Is everything alright, Cody?" she asks.

I hate her voice. I hate her face. I hate her.

"What is it?" Britt snaps under her breath. She cares enough about our social image to keep up the charade, but I know she hates my guts.

"I need you to come home!" I hiss.

"No." she whispers.

"We're quite enjoying our coffee. Why don't you join us, Cody?" Kate asks.

"No. Brittany, please. Let's go." I say.

She suddenly laughs, and I realize that we are being watched. She's keeping up the act.

I smile and Kate laughs too. We are really too good at this.

"I'm not going." Britt says with a sweet smile on her face.

She knows I can't make a big scene in this place. Not with everyone watching. But hell is going to freeze over before I leave her alone with Kate.

So I take up Kate's offer and sit down at the table.

Maybe hell already has frozen over.

Cody sits down beside me and I'm actually shocked. But now I'm dying to know even more why he hates Kate so much. What did she do?

I take a sip of my coffee and another thought comes to mind. Why did Cody come here? Did he know that I was with Kate? She came in after I ran upstairs, and saw me crying. I lied when she asked what was wrong, saying that Cody and I had been fighting-which I guess was kind of true-and she offered to get some Starbucks. So, I wiped my tears, and we walked out, yelling to Lucian that we were leaving as we did.

Then Cody came rushing in like he was some sort of hero, and when he found me he actually looked relieved to see me.

But you'd have to be worried about me to be relieved I'm okay, right?

And that would mean he cares about me.

Which he doesn't.

So I shut him out.
