You denied the feelings first, you thought it was just a phase you'd get over. Falling in love with your best friend was never on your todo list and you didn't expect to want him to feel the same towards you.
Huey was smart, caring, and overall friendly with everyone. Your family approved of him, especially because they had found out about your little crush and tried to get you to tell him, which you immediately denied.
Something about the red triplet just made you feel all bubbly and nervous inside, but you didn't mind the feeling. It made you really happy, yet every time you thought about opening up and telling him, you pushed away and ignored the stupid feeling.
As of recently, his brothers and family had been picking on him by pushing or teasing him, ruffling his hair and giving him looks, and you wanted to ask but he denied the fact that they even did such actions.
Today was the day though, you'd be risking everything, but you knew hiding how you felt would just make it all worse. People would always say you two would be a cute couple, but you both said that you were just friends.
With these feelings, those words really hurt. "Yeah, we're just friends..." It felt like you didn't mean anything to each other and you weren't close. You hated those words.
Knocking on the door of McDuck Manor, you were greeted by Huey. Both your faces flushed a little at the sight of each other before Huey told you to enter.
His two brothers looked up and saw you, sending smirks to their faces. They typically looked at you like that, and you never pieced out why they gave you those looks.
"Hey, Hubert, you got anything important to tell Y/N?" The middle brother, Dewey, hinted, looking from his brother to me back to his brother.
"Uh..." Huey gulped, his body shaking slightly. I decided I needed to tell him my feelings before he opened his mouth.
"Huey, I like you... I like you a lot. We've been really good friends for a long time, and I just couldn't help my feelings from starting and growing afterwards. I can't just hide it and lie to you like I have been for the past few... weeks, months, I don't know how long it's been." I confessed, looking at Huey and waiting for an immediate rejection.
Both his brothers had their mouths hung open as they looked at me. Both of them pushed Huey forward a little and he relied to what I had said.
"Y/N... I-I... I didn't think you felt the same..."
