"Hey! Aren't you the guy that walked my mom down the isle?" Ian smiled looking up at him.
"I wish." Mark said under his breath, causing my heart to skip a few beats.
"But you did." Ian said titling his head confused. Laughing, I kiss his cheek and set him down."Ian, this is Drew. He's a friend of mine." I smiled down at Drew, who was smiling up at me shyly.
"Hey, Im Ian. Did you meet my mom when she came yesterday?" Ian asked as he smiled at his brother.
Nodding, Drew smiled. "Yeah, she played Halo with me."
"You like Halo!?" Ians face was in shock, as if he were the only one to ever know how to play. Only causing me to laugh, and Mark to chuckle as he stared as his sons.
"Yeah, Dad only lets me play for half an hour on the weekends. He doesn't let me play on other days because he says he doesn't want me getting used to it." Drew said, glancing up at his dad.
"My mom said the same thing too. But i like the toys better." Ian smiled as he reached for his pocket and got Master Chief out.
Drew smiled and got the same toy out. Laughing Ian looks up at me and asked "Mom can we go play? We'll just be under the table."
Looking at Drew and Ian, i smiled and nodded. Whispering small 'yes's' they run towards the table I sat at.
Watching them laugh and lift the sheet to get under, brought warmth to me. I always knew they would get along. I'd always imagined them playing together, and having that brother bond. It seemed now, looking at them, that I shouldnt have hid Ian.
Looking up at Mark, he was staring at them. "We need to talk."
"Mark, I don't know if this is the best time. You are-"
"You don't know how I am. So please don't tell me. Now let us have this dance." It was more of a statement than a question.
He grabbed me with his hand at my waist and the other interlocked with my fingers. "Thats why you left. Because you were pregnant."
I Stared away looking anywhere but his eyes. I replayed this scenario in my head several times before I thought it would actually be happening.
"Mark, you have to understand-"
"Understand what? That you hid our child from me?"
Those were the words that broke and fluttered my heart. Our child. He already considered Ian his own after only a few moments of speaking.
"Don't you dare lie to me. I know. He has Drew's eyes." Mark whispered into my ear as his grip tightened against the silk sheet of the dress.
He looked at me and i winced at the pain. "Mark. How was I supposed to-"
"You weren't supposed to lie!" His eyes were staring i to mine. And i cool feel every inch of muscle against me. The dress felt so think that every curve and edge of him fit perfectly against me, causing me to only flutter and catch my breath.
"How dare you-"
Whoa. "Excuse me?" The flutter was gone. "How dare I what? Raise my son to be a kind loving child. Raise him by myself as you raise your own. Move so you're beloved Andrea were to never find out? How dare I? How dare you insult me for rasing my-"
"Our." His eyes were piercing mine but he held me so I wouldn't leave. Digging my nails into his shoulder in neck he only held me to the point of barely any air.
"Our son. But don't you dare judge me, for why I left."
Marks eyes were hard with their dark pools of brown with the red tint of anger. But I wouldn't hinder by his stare. So we stood tense but dancing swiftly.
"It was one night."
"One night, and the only good thing that came out of it was Ian." I retorted staring into his eyes as I watched the pain, I felt that night.
"You cant mean it?" His voice was hurt.
"Hazel? May I have this dance?" Garrett smiled down ay me from next to Mark and I.
"We were-"
"Done." I said looking at him as i took Garrett's hand, feeling the delicious arms fall from my waist.
"Not just yet. But for now." Mark said turning his back and leaving out of the room all together.
My heart was breaking because from here on my 5 years were gone and were going to be shared with Mark.
"You guys seemed tense. Was there something going on?"
I didn't answer but just danced. Swaying to the rhythm of the song as he just held me and didn't force an answer.
Mark knew. He finally knew.
