The sound of children's laughter filled my ears. They laughed loudly and full of joy as they hun in monkey bars or slid down the slides.

But my eyes were on Ian. Ian had been playing on the slide with his friend Jake, running as they had their swords in hand ready to battle it out.

Ian's remark a few days ago really got to me. It caused me to see what he was missing out on. He wanted a father. Wanted to believe there was a man out there ready to jump in front if him at any cost. Yet, he only had a mother to do so.

It was painful. It hurt to see him see me saddened by the events from the past. It always came back to haunt me.

"Excuse me? May I sit beside you?" Said a strong manly voice beside me. Looking up all i see are swirls of blue. Blue irises that made me blush. His blonde hair was sleeked back with gel making it messy. His shoulders were bold and his body lean and tall.

"Uh. Yes, of course." I reply smiling as i push my black curls behind my ear.

"You looked lost in thought," he said smiling as he put down the pink Tangled backpack. So, he had a daughter.

"Seems to me you were staring at me," I retorted, smiling over at him.

"Well, I suppose I was." He smiled and stuck his hand out. "Hi, I'm Garrett Anderson."

"Hazel Wilks." I say shaking his strong firm hand back. Instant attraction.

"Which ones yours?" He smiled and turned pointing at the small almost six year old girl who was nothing like him. Putting a wall up I stared at the brown haired girl with a pixie face. Yet when she smiled and waved over to the bench I saw the eyes. The Deep deep blue eyes.

Smiling, I look at Ian and pointed to him. "My Night. My Day. And My Stars." I say as I stare at him.

"He's a looker. He looks exactly like you. Except the eyes." He smiled as he looked at my son.

"Thank you. Your daughter has your eyes." I smiled.

"She's the exact replica of her mother." he smiled, almost sadly.

"She must be beautiful."

"She is." He smiled and looked at his watch. My luck, i thought, a wife.

"Oh, well I have to get going. Hopefully, you come around more often."

"We'll see." I smile and wave as he goes to his daughter.

Smiling softly I admired the married man as he walked away slowly and waved over at me goodbye.

Reading as Ian plays in the play ground, someone yells, "Hazel?"

Looking up at Ian, checking if he was fine and being satisfied as i see him playing next to the swings, I look up for the source of the yell.

"Hazel?!" I look behind me and see a small figure coming to me.

With long wavy brown hair and big icy blue eyes, the girl came in a sundress that revealed her curves.

Layla.

Mark's sister.
