The loud echoes of gunfire banged against my eardrums, I was positive that I wouldn't survive. Concluding that my mission was basically a suicide itself... well I did sign up for this. My parent's death would be for nothing if I didn't avenge them. My orange hair that was pulled into a ponytail when I left the base was now in a frenzy. I didn't think I was ever going to be afraid but here I am, my hands that were holding the machine gun were shaking and the worst was that I was alone.
I stood behind layers of dust and boulders of rock covering me from being seen. This wasn't any ordinary battle, no, it was the battle of intelligence and wit and unfortunately for us, we were on the losing side.
For now, of course.
A terrifying scream pierced my quiet mind, I peered carefully seeing vibrant orange hair. My sister was found out. My heart pounded against my chest as I saw a gun being raised to her forehead.
"Your codename is Chance, which I know is correct. After much investigation, we found out that you and your sister, Eleven, lived in a secret hideout along with other humans who were being led by an unknown source" Its unbelievable that they managed to find out that much information already "Tell us, who is this source..." The blonde woman narrowed her eyes at my sister "Or what it is".
She stayed silent. Good...
"Speak human or we will do it the hard way", this time the woman pressed the gun on her skin. Chance, to my surprise, smiled, "You should know that I would rather die than betray my comrades. It takes much more than just a gun to my head to get me talking", she licked her lips and her smile widened "Olivia Johnson". The name rolled off her tongue with a menacing touch.
Sometimes I forgot that Chance was a Clairvoyant, she knew every little past and future details about everyone. However, she could not tell them, Chance knew very well that it could change the future and usually it wasn't for the better.
The woman glared at Chance picking her up like she weighed nothing. Her feet dangled in the air like a dummy as Olivia chocked the living out of her.
I had to do something, I knew that, but I couldn't move until I saw the signal from Apollo.
"Unless you want to die, start speaking. I'm fed up with your shit of a smart mouth", Chance was turning paler by the second, I looked frantically at the wall across from me. Apollo was there, camouflaged perfectly. Finally there it was the signal with just a simple snap I dropped my gun and did a spiral over the boulders. My shoes pressed against the ground and I jumped with my hand turning into a fist. I saw things in slow motion, my hand knocked against the hard plate of skin of Olivia sending her flying. I caught my sister before she hit the ground, Chance coughed loudly several times. At the corner of my eye I saw Apollo taking action, he brought the snowflake onto Olivia's chest without hesitation.
Rapidly, she started spasming slowly breaking into shards of what was her true body.
A robot.
And it stopped, I let out a sigh and began to relax. We finished, everything was finished, at least that's what I thought.
"10 seconds until bomb explodes", my eyes widened.
Fuck, I knew this wasn't going to be that easy.
My eyes shot to Apollo who gave me the same shocked expression. We foresaw so many things coming but this definitely wasn't one of them.
Why would someone want to plant a bomb and take their own life for it?
I knew the answer right away.
We would be gone, we pesky humans would be gone. They'd go so far to even let one of their members be an experiment to end us.
As a matter of fact, I came to the idea that we were simply fucked.
Tridon wasn't here, our only way out would be him but he wasn't here.
It's official, I was going to die.
