Song of the Chapter) Jasmine Sokko Porcupine
A/N
At this point Eleven is going back to her past remembering
everything she went through before the last few seconds of
her death.

It was like in a flicker of a moment I saw my past fly through my eyes. Every little detail and exact moment that led up to this, I saw it coming. I knew that I was going to die, the seconds were counting down and all I could think of while I was running hand in hand with Apollo, gripping each our sweaty palms together, we dragged each other and Chance jumping, ducking under boulders and broken electrical lines. My heart was racing more than before, for a moment I wished that I could have said my goodbyes properly to everyone but I knew that was not possible. We just ran, each second passing like years. Then there it was- the very last second- I held back tears, I didn't want it to end this way. So I remembered everything, and I mean absolutely everything.

I stopped gazing at the company's silver building. It reflected off the sun, and somehow I knew that my life was going to change completely. I made sure my hair was okay and checked that I had no leftover crumbs from the shortbread I ate this morning for breakfast on my skinny black dress pants. I climbed up the stairs and entered, people were streaming in and out with briefcases in hands. Everywhere I looked, there was not a single place that was empty.
"Are you Piper Lance by any chance?" I turned around and saw a woman with dark long hair wrapped in a ponytail. Her presence seemed to click "Important" as soon as I saw her. She wore glasses and was dressed in black jeans and a gun strapped around her thigh. Her eyes seemed cold but held rough confidence behind them that it was almost chilling.
I nodded firmly keeping my posture, she extended her hand towards me, "I'm Tempest, we here hide our names for utmost security, therefore, I can't tell you my real name". I placed my hand against hers and shook it while giving her a nod.
"How did you know my name?" I asked curiously, she eyed me and said "I work beside the Dean of this company, I get the information of the new recruits here along with the Dean. We are the only people here that know your name". Tempest turns around briskly and starts walking at a fast pace, "Come along now, your team is awaiting your arrival".
I followed her, we walked up to the stairs and into the second floor where we got into an elevator. She pressed the button for the 5th floor and settled against the wall, leaning against it. The elevator dinged and two guys entered. They each had tablets in hand and were wearing white uniform clothes, do I have to wear white?
I hope not.
A few moments of silence passed on and I was starting to question whether this was my type of job. Was everyone here so quiet? I bit my lip waiting for the elevator to ding, I let out a quiet sigh as the movement finally stopped and we started getting out to the 5th floor.
I followed Tempest, once again in silence, the walls were endlessly white, I was beginning to think if this place was an asylum. It's white everywhere, the person who made this place probably didn't know how to color code things or was it just my anxious self? We walked into a room and in the middle, there was a man whose back was facing us.
"Gemini, I brought Piper Lance just as you ordered" at the sound of Tempest's voice the man turned around, as he turned I started noticing more details of him. He had long golden hair and sea green eyes, and just like everyone else, he was wearing a white uniform.
"Thank you Tempest", he turned his gaze towards me, "I'll take it from here" she nodded and made her way out of the room leaving me with the very prince himself. "As you heard my name is Gemini and you must know a bit about the company and how we function already. We are Equinox, we protect our city of Lindea and each of our operatives have unique abilities. Yours well, even though you were accepted because your parents work with the government we have seen you in action and your special and unique abilities have shown us that you're acceptable to put you into a team and give you your first mission"
"Pardon me, but I've barely started and I already have a mission?", he gives me a small smile "Like I said we have been watching you and your skills have proven you worthy to the team", he grabbed a file from a drawer and searched for a certain paper.
Stalker much?
"Piper Lance, you show extraordinary abilities in- and I list: Clairvoyance, Retrocognition, and Physical Augmentation", he faced me once again placing the paper down. "And two of these have never been found in any of our operatives"
"Making me what? Special?", he nodded "Your first mission will be with your the Silver Team, you will be going outside of the walls and find infiltrate Cosmos"
"Cosmos? You mean Equinox's enemies?"
"Yes, this mission will take place in a week in order to give you enough time to settle down here", I nodded "Alright, so are we done with the introduction then?"
"Just one more thing, as you know everyone here has a codename and according to the team you work with you get your name. As for you Piper, your name from now on will be Eleven. Never give anyone your real name as it could be lethal to our corporation", I firmly nodded "You may take your leave now, I dialed in Tempest so she could take you to your room"
"Thank you sir", the door opened and soon I found myself walking the halls of endless white walls. Before leaving Tempest gave me a card telling me that it was my entry to my room and as well as my card to get lunch, she also told me to not lose it because there are no replacements for it. She gave me also a paper that had my schedule listed for my first week, my week consisted mostly of training and paperwork, and she also gave me augs, which were glasses that like phones could call anyone and had its own map. Like 3d the map could take you wherever in the company. It has more useful items but it would take me years to list every one of them. I entered my room, relieved to see that the items in the room weren't all just white, it had some color. But before I could think much an overwhelming need to take a nap overtook me, I guess my trip had left me tired.
I laid down on my bed feeling my tension ease, tomorrow I would start training with my teammates and my life will change completely. Before I knew it I blacked out and fell asleep.
