"It's Jungkook..."
"He just committed suicide."
-
You fell to the ground on your knees as the impact of the news hit you. Still being in denial and shock, you look up to Jimin, with your fingers shaking. "W-what did you just say?"
Tears built up in your eyes and loud buzzing noises filled your ears, but not loud enough to drown out Jimin's voice. Black dots surrounded the edges of your vision, and your mouth went dry.
"He jumped off a cliff earlier today, but my hyung was suspicious of what he was doing and followed him up to the cliff. My hyung managed to take him out before he could properly drown, but- Y/N!" Jimin kneels down beside you, holding onto your shoulder.
"Deep breaths. Breathe in, breathe out." He tells you in a calm but quiet voice, trying to get you to calm down. You feel your mind drifting further, and you start to see images pop up in the back of your mind of sudden flashes of memories from when you were a kid.
Jungkook's beautiful bunny smile as you had just finished playing a round of hide and seek with him, how happy he had been even though you caught him hiding behind a bush. It was a fun time, back when worries were non-existent for you and him.
Then came another, more recent than the other, of him sitting in a boring class, staring out the window, a bored and dull expression plastered across his face. It was neutral, but long gone were the joyful smiles of his childhood. You were in a class with him but decided that watching him was more interesting than listening to the lecture.
Just as soon as the memory flashed by, it was gone. Your breathing got rougher as the images progressively grew more and more depressive. The next flashback was of you running to Jungkook, and you still felt a soft stab in your heart even after so many years. Jungkook's face was tear-stained, his once shining doe eyes red-rimmed and tired.
His arms and legs were splotched with patches of fresh bruises, and there were some cuts scattered across the length of his arm. Though he was in so much pain, the only thing he could pay attention to was your face, his own instantly lighting up when he saw you.
The next one came with the noise of a loud slamming in your head, the memory so strong that it involved your other senses. It was the most recent memory so far, showing Jungkook's back for a few seconds before he dashes out of the door, slamming it. You had been trying to comfort one of him, but he didn't want it.
Little did you know, it was because he wanted to conceal you from the depths and darkness of his thoughts, trying to save you from his pain.
The memories faded, and you could finally see reality again. Jimin was now kneeling right in front of you, his face mere inches from yours. You gasped as you were shaken back into the moment.
"Please don't leave me," He whispers, eyes watery as he looks directly into yours. You can see the specks of darker brown swirling in his chestnut colored eyes when he looks directly into yours and doesn't allow you to break the eye contact. You nod lightly, still feeling light-headed.
When he sees that you're okay again and can manage to breathe and sit up on your own, Jimin gets up hurriedly. "Stay right here. I'll be right back. Don't leave this house."
"No!" You croak out in a weak voice. "I'm going with you." Using what was left of the drained energy in your body, you force yourself to get up and follow him in a staggering walk. Jimin looks at you in horror, catching you by the arm before you fell.
"You need to stay and rest. This is a huge blow to recover from-"
"I need to see him."
