oof here's an update to thank you all for 30k 💖💖 and also because i haven't updated in a millennium. i sincerely apologize

sigh. another day, another science lesson. but it wasn't like you hated science all, you just didn't like your lab partner. and of course, your lab partner was your crush, max mills. sooo cliché.

every day you would sit next to him for almost an hour and glance at him occasionally, and maybe he would even look back at you. you were almost convinced that he thought you are weird because of all the staring.

you walked into the classroom, making sure that you didn't trip over the water on the floor that the previous class spilled. you sat down on your usual seat, and a few seconds later max sat down next to you.

"hey, how's it going y/n?" max asked. he asked this almost every single science lesson and you were pretty sure he only did that because he was a really nice person. which is one of the reasons why you liked him.

"it's going good, max." you said, smiling. max smiled as well, making you happy.

"hello class, today we are doing a crystallization experiment. your homework was to research on how to perform this experiment so i am going to let you guys go and start." the teacher said, gaining all of the attention.

"okay... let's do this." max said, grabbing the equipment. everything was going smoothly until the filtration part came. you both had made too much of the acid and the filter paper couldn't hold it. the acid then spilled all over you and some on the table.

"oh my god i'm so sorry, let me clean this up for you!" max said, scrambling to go get tissues.

"it's fine..." you mumbled. "at least it wasn't corrosive...?" max said, hoping to lift your spirit. you giggled a bit and you swore you could see a blush on max's face.

you took some of the tissues and started wiping the acid off the table. "hey if you don't mind... i can make it up to you." max offered.

"sure." you smiled. after finishing the experiment, you sat down and chatted with max for a bit.

"so..." you started. "want to go and grab a bite with me later? so i can make it up to you." max interjected. he glanced at you with hopeful eyes. a small blush crept onto your face. was he asking me out on a date? is it a date? oh my god he's asking me out on a da-

"it can be a date... if you want to. i mean if your comfortable with that i guess."

"yes, of course." you smiled.

BONUS PART

the next day...

"okay class your crystals should have formed, you could have a look at it if you like." the teacher said.

immediately max grabbed your hand and dragged you to your crystals.

"haha, look y/n, the crystals look like a heart. haha."
