prom is coming up. you were truly so excited about it because it was a once in a lifetime moment to spend with your partner. you really hoped that your boyfriend, max mills, could come. you guys were in a long-distance relationship so spending time together is very valuable for you guys and you both cherished every moment. although the long-distance was making things harder, you both still worked through it and were still a happy couple.
you called him, wondering if he could come and go to prom with you. he picked up in less than 2 seconds.
"hey merlijn, what's up?"
"hey max! i was wondering if you were coming to prom with me?"
"oh... well um..."
"whats wrong?"
"I can't go... sorry babygirl."
"why can't you go?"
"I'm a bit busy you see..."
"oh. its fine, don't worry."
"you sure?"
"yeah. oh I've go to go, bye babe!"
"bye bye baby!"
you sighed, placing your phone screen down onto your bed. "I guess I'll just go on my own then..." you muttered under your breath.
*a week later*
you were leaving school when your friends carly and harriet came up to you along with your best friend, aria.
"hey merlijn!" they all said, starting to walk beside you. "hey guys!! what's going on? whats with all the cheerful faces?" you asked, slightly confused by their sudden happiness.
"we're buying a prom dress for you!" aria said, shaking your arm.
"oh but... i don't have a prom date..." you said, sighing. aria looked shocked for a second then she quickly changed back to a straight face. aria was the only other person who knew about your long-distance relationship with max, and she was shocked because she probably thought that max was going to go to prom with you.
"that's fine, we could all just go alone without dates together!" Carly suggested. "yeah, we totally should! although I really hope Alex would ask me out to prom..." Harriet said dreamily. aria nudged her elbow into her side. "hey, Alex is my twin brother!" she said. "he's still cute," harriet said, shrugging.
you all went to the nearest shopping mall and you all picked out prom dresses.
