The Life of Queen Cassandra

Remembering Old Memories

28 years after Cassandra died, Dominick continues to rule the kingdom alone and every week, Regina comes home to see him.

On the day of her death, Regina would take her children to visit Cassandra's grave, and then Tom and Lora later married their own spouses and had children of their own and also take them to see Cassandra's grave too.

Every day at sunset, Dominick would sit by at Cassandra's grave, and would talk to her. He always carries photo of themselves at high school when they were teenagers and would remember those precious memories of her.

One day at sunset, while sitting by her grave, Dominick, who is now 80 years old thought about her. "Every single, I miss you, my love.", he sighed, as he looked at the photo of him and her as teens.

Then he began to have flashbacks memories of how he saved her from a high school jerk on the first day they met, told her that he's a prince and she's his future Queen, fell in love, when he proposed to her, get married, crowned as King and Queen, found out she's pregnant, Regina was born, Cassandra supported him during his parents' deaths, Tom and Lora was born and lastly when she dies in his arms.

"But I know you're still here in my heart and I promise that I'll make you even more proud than you were before. Rest easy, my love. I'll join you soon.", Dominick sighed, as he looked up at the sunset and tears rolling down from his eyes.

Then his great-granddaughter, Cassie, who is named after Cassandra, came up and greet him. "Grandpa!", she cried. Dominick gets up and hugs her. "Hey, princess. How are you?", he asked.

"Good.", she sighed. "That's good. Come on, let's go.", he replied. He puts her down, he looks back at Cassandra's grave and smiles and he and Cassie walk back to the castle together, hand in hand.
